Help Me Choose a High-End Yoke (and Maybe Rudder Pedals)

put your autopilot on. rest your hands lightly on the yoke and fell it move. The yoke moves as on the real aircraft! No other yoke does this.

This feedback, is just so much more immersive than  you can get any other way.

This seems a bit like playing canned ATC recordings in the background. Mood music, but nothing of any consequence.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the different thoughts and perspectives.  One thing I'd mention for clarity is that for the yoke if I do go Brunner it would be the CLS-E NG, so much closer in price to the Yoko but the trade off is a shorter elevator axis.

I'm curious to ask Virtual-Fly if they offer any sort of bundle discount for buying more than one thing at once anyone have any experience with that?

Thanks everyone for your input and advice.  After much humming and hawing (and viewing pretty much every piece of information I could find on both yokes on the internet) I decided to go with the Brunner CLE-E NG, Ruddo+ pedals and TQ6+.  I'll be sure to post my experiences with the set up once everything gets here.

Thanks again!

Hope you enjoy. I know what a head banger it is to decide on a large purchase, especially when it falls into the want instead of need category of life. That goes double if you're married.😐 I hope you get great service and enjoyment from you're purchase.

Thanks!  You’re absolutely right, and it’s even harder when you over analyze everything like I consistently do 😀

I am married, and luckily my wife is very understanding of my flightsim hobby/addiction 😁

Just a word re the VF TQ6. I have had one since 2017, and it is a nice piece of gear. All the levers can be tensioned to suit your own feel. Unfortunately, I have never been able to get the throttles to actuate the reverse thrust on my 737NG. I have tried via the Options menu and FSUIPC, to no avail. The lever actually clicks into the reverse segment on the throttle body, but it does nothing. It does not seem to have a switch to register any contact. I have finally resorted to fitting 2 micro switches on the base and wired through a Leo Bodnar card and graduated through FSUIPC. I have finally sent an e-mail to VF asking for an answer to the problem, but haven't as yet had an answer. As my model is an older version, it is still fitted with potensiometers, but I see that the newer models have been fitted with Hall Effect sensors.

Apart from the mentioned problem, I am very happy with the TQ6.

Cheers

I have one of these and I'm pretty sure the axes are just continuous but with a mechanical detent part-way through. Hence if you are looking for independent analogue axes you won't find them. I have them set them up in FSUIPC using the calibration screen, which effectively divides each analogue axis in to two independent ranges.

I use the Virtual Fly VF-Test & Calibrate application to set up the throttle quadrant. Reverse, feather and fuel cut-off all work perfectly. It's available here: https://www.virtual-fly.com/downloads

I use SPAD next to program the TQ6 and have no issues with the reverse works like a charm. I like this program as I find it easier than programing axis and switches thru FSUIC.

Thanks guys, if it’s a detent in a continuous axis that’s good to know so I can program it through fsuipc and “split” the axis as mentioned by @MarkDH.

Are you able to get analog reverse thrust levels doing so?  That would be a nice touch.

I got my shipping notification for my TQ6 and Ruddo’s today and they should be here late next week.  The yoke is shipping on Sept 2.

Yes, you are. Have a look at my TQ6 review video from 12:33 onwards to see how I set it up in with FSUIPC for FSX and SPAD.neXt for X-Plane.

it's too late now but I think you would have liked the TPR. Had them for around 6 weeks now and there a different world.

Enjoy your new controllers, Dave. happy for you.
