Also, if you compare it with google (google has covered the area with photogrammetry), you will see it's not photogrammetry on this picture on the left. Ok 🙂 so things are getting more complicated here. I am scratching my head now... If we keep the theory of 2 different visual settings and/or 2 different scenery mode (stream vs online), will this difference be relevant. Ummm ________________________________LEBOR SIMULATIONSScenery for Flight Simulators since 1998

It could be the graphical settings, different alpha builds or any other reason. This is the reason I would like to test it. The screenshots don't give us the details we need to understand it. They would probably have to make 10 more episodes talking about the world scenery of the Flight Simulator, to explain/show each little detail about it. 9800X3D@H150i // Msi RTX 5090 Trio OC // 64GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 // 2TB + 1TB Nvme Dell 27" 2127DGF - 1440p - Gsync - 165hz Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel

Well, With extra zooming, I see in the right side screenshot some footprints having red roofs but they seem not extruded to form a building as far as I could see. I could be mistaken but if indeed, the user reduced some visual settings, the density of the autogen could have been reduced and 3D infrastructure as well. Not only the autogen type and quality that caught my attention but I can see also differences in the quality of the atmospheric light. On the left side, the atmospheric light looks realistic with depth etc. whereas on the right side, the atmospheric light effect is more dull and lacks the depth we see in the left one. This too could be the result of some reduced settings and/or lower hardware capability (ex: GPU) ________________________________LEBOR SIMULATIONSScenery for Flight Simulators since 1998

Hence the mountain you mentioned is automatically rendered based on this better data. I guess you’re right. As far as I know this is the first time we have evidence, or at least a strong indication of this (okay, there was that cliff in St. Barts, but that looked handcrafted). So there‘s still hope we get a decent Matterhorn. i9-11900K, RTX 4090, 32 GB ram, Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, TCA Airbus sidestick and quadrant, Reverb G2

February 17, 20206 yr I am still so puzzled as for how you know from what little corner of this world every subtle screenshot comes from 🙂 ________________________________LEBOR SIMULATIONSScenery for Flight Simulators since 1998
