Yikes! Okay, to be fair Google's representatin isn't any better here. Those peaks are just too spiky.

The right side and left forefront of the pic look not so bad. The center is difficult to make out because of the ludicrous arty fartsy blur.

Ah, that‘s the proper name. Wasn‘t sure so I chose Riviera.

Yes, true, but those cones behind the first ridge on the left aren‘t a good sign.

I agree with ca_metal...

And I just remembered an online tech paper written by the french gentleman who created a wonderful tool to generate Ortho (aerial) scenery for the other simulator.

He made a comparison between different datas featured in packages one can install for the global terrain in that other simulator.  He also compared the packages data with the data we can use in his Ortho scenery tool.

He specifically made the comparison in a rocky mountain as he said, due to the fact that these are difficult to render with mesh generation tools.

I suppose this is a fact that is true for all PC flight simulators (world engines) terrain.

Data comparison for rocky mountains:

Just to confirm what Claviateur writes about Ortho4XP and its brilliant creator: oscar pilot

In fact, I was referring to an experiment the author of O4XP did by combining Orthophoto (Aerial imagery) coverage with procedural rock textures for cliffs when the steep elevation is detected. I don't think this feature is available yet in the application. This is the demo he did:

Ah ok ! I was not aware of this experiment carried out by Oscarpilote. And the video that illustrates this experiment is truly breathtaking :  I have never seen cliffs so well rendered ... even in France VFR

Yes, he is a smart and very clever developer for sure. And his technique can produce wonderful results in MSFS.

Well, he is the "neighbor" of Asobo 🙂 so to speak. They can talk together 😎

Now, on a serious note, Asobo's engine and developers are certainly capable of creating such combination / technique for steep elevations because the Ortho will never produce such results no matter how detailed and high res the mesh data is.

Are they?

Do you know how they look in real life?

Is it normal the airports's (LFMN) beacon is visible that far away? Isn't that cheating?
