Nah man,

I wouldnt pay that much money for a processor thats not the latest generation, it's not even the K-model.

8TB 5400rpm? I would never put my OS on a 5400rpm drive.

DVD Burner? Maybe I'll find some DVDs in my basement from 2002.

Wireless AC NIC? I play games with wire.

I think i'll build my own rig.

Not sure what to do with this thread? Link to local shops with computers that holds the same specs as the MS event did?

I’d wait and see what the minimum specs and requirements are before planning a purchase. Just keep saving money until then as it’s probably too hard to predict. Plus, new hardware might hit the market between now and then.

If you live in the USA - keep an eye on Jetline Systems. They will have a PC that will run the new MSFS fine, just jive them some time to get a copy of the sim and sort it out.

^^^ This.

I've got a Dell Alienware Area 51 desktop that I'm happy with.  I purchased it directly from Dell which I'd recommend for Dell products.  It's a little pricey but not when you consider everything that came with it (*).

Wait and see what's available when the time comes, as the same thing you'd buy today would be cheaper and the newer stuff would be more powerful.

(*) and the fact that I didn't want to have to mess with speccing out a new computer and getting the parts together.  Last time I did that was a 386/40.

Edit:  Jetline has a good reputation as well.

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

Rule of thumb is to buy your simming computer around the time the sim itself is released. It works generally well. Generally (who said FSX at the back of the room ?).

Dominique

Simming since 1981 -  [email protected] GHz with 16 GB of RAM and a 1080 with 8 GB VRAM running a 27" @ 2560*1440 - Windows 10 - Warthog HOTAS - MFG pedals - MSFS Standard version with Steam

New CPU`s going on sale this month from Intel 7th cheaper than previous new CPU`s but better still this could push the price down on the present CPU`s, so like has been said better to wait your not going to need it till next year.

Just wait until it's out or more publicly available. There is no point discussing it now. Prices change a lot, new CPus and GPUs might show up as well from here to release or at least open beta (if there will be such a thing)

Oh ya...they have FS specialized setups...MSFT should put out their own setups that you can by with game installed with optimal settings/fps rated.

That may take away from flight sim development time and effort.

I would rather any and every extra resource MS has, to just stick to the sim and make it as real as it gets. 😁

Just checked and Jetline systems is no more. 😞

One thing I do know is I will be getting a system that can handle all sliders to the right with 100 plus fps consistently like my current system.

Who's paying Froogle to include "Frooglesim videos are powered by Jetline Systems" at the beginning of each of his videos, then?

I understand their domain appears to have been snapped up by a squatter, but I can't find anything about them actually ceasing operations.

I was just going by the website being down. http://jetlinesystems.com/

It's not down, their registration appears to have expired and another company come in and snatched up the domain name.  What's likely happened is that whoever handles their website didn't do their job properly and they lost the domain name they originally registered.  Now they'll have to pay what is essentially a ransom to get it back.

LOL...so there is no website now? How does one look at and purchase a system then?
