No support for TrackIR !?

So if you dislike it and want to share thoughts of feedback to MS/Asobo of “don’t waste too many resources on it right now - get to it later or by 3rd party add-on” you’re not allowed to contribute?

Correct! Now you're getting with the program. You've got no skin in this game, so why are you in the game?

Re-read what I wrote again.

“Feedback” doesn’t mean “only people who want something and/or are saying positive things about that thing”

Hmmmm...... I want to use this argument in other threads and see how it goes.......

Probably not too well...  but hey, it had grown too quiet on here!

Thank you for admitting this.

These “positive only” rules being advocated for here, were not in play in other discussions about other features - nor should they be.

I read it twice. That's a healthy sense of entitlement shown in your post. Kind if like, doesn't really matter to you what other simmers may want, if it doesn't benefit you, the heck it. MS should dedicate resources to things YOU want first. Is that sort of the gist?

You’re confused.

I’m not the user who was advocating for shutting down conversation in here that isn’t “in support of TIR”.   I didn’t tell people to move along and leave the thread.

All opinions, positive or negative, are valid and should be shared on all subjects, particularly if a goal is accurate feedback for MS/Asobo

Question:  Does anyone else use a zoom level of about 0.8, or am I the only one?

Does .79 count? Not sure how that happened but since I started using the TIR and Chaseplane combination it's what I read. If it's not broke .....

The problem for me is that if the movement is big enough so that you can look 90deg to the sides (which is btw. way too little during a visual approach), it is too sensitive/fast for small movements along the panels in the VC:

If the movement is acceptable for panning in the VC, the left/right head turning is capability is even more restricted, which makes it even less useful.

It's a crutch, but for most it's better than the normal view switching.

I don't want to fly a visual approach without being able to look (at least)  45deg back.

Since you asked .... Game profiles can be adjusted to barely (minutely) move at the beginning and then increase virtual movement as your real head moves. You can adjust the profile to not move at all until your real head moves past a certain angle. There is also precision mode.

I have no trouble moving my field of view 135 degrees in either direction.

I have not tried VR at all but in what I've read it's not quite ready for flight simming. My opinion.

Most likely a stupid question, but can't I e.g. look 45deg back over my shoulder by turning my head by the same amount as IRL?

Yes. The "one to one" profile included with the TrackIR software.

Just a suggestion:

If you don't like or use TrackIR, and don't work directly for the Microsoft FS program, please stay out of this particular appeal. This thread (as I see it), isn't about whether you dislike or misunderstand the device or how it works. It really is little of your business, is it?

This is about TrackIR and having it work natively in the new MSFS program and a conversation between those who would wish, or can assist it to be and to do so. If you disagree or are ambivalent or agnostic about TrackIR, please kindly reconsider staying clear.

Yes, each of us has the right to give our opinion as much as we want, on anything, but sometimes it is best just to read or listen to those who have something meaningful at stake. To some of us the inclusion of TrackIR is really important. Please MSFS, please hear our plea.

Thank you!

Kindest regards,

Spirit Flyer

Stephen

And bounced again - (Also for research purposes 😉 )

MS/ ASOBO hear our prayer. Please give us Track IR from the out so we can glance left/ right - at will - and still be able to flick the INS ON on the 737s that we flyyyy, in this glorious World you have created for us in your wisdom.

REMOVED EXCESSIVE QUOTE!!!

This post just about sums up my views exactly. I remember when Dovetail Games kept delaying implementation of TIR, the forums were constantly featuring complaints and requests for it to be implemented. Until eventually Dovetail Games gave in and did so. Personally I never sim without using TIR so I sincerely hope that support is included from the outset.

Exactly TIR tech is a dinosaur fossil at this point.

It can't compare to 6DOF VR HMDs.

I hope they do implement TIR it for the folks who love it, but nothing wrong with stating cold hard proven facts at the same time.

Even the TIR devs would tell you VR has pretty much took it to another level in positional tracking.

That's great and all, but not everyone can use / wants to use a VR headset.

Let's be mindful that just because someone has a strong preference for one feature over another, doesn't make their subjective experience more or less valid than someone else's.

It would be great to have both VR and TrackIR capabilities added straight out of the box so that no-one is excluded, but it may be that both are added after the sim's release.

Why do you feel the need to basically repeat everything that has already been said in this thread?

What part did you not understand???
