In case they are checking this thread, I offer them my sincere apologies that people are writing statements such as: "deal breaker for me...." "Huge mistake by them..!!!!" "No Track IR. No MS Flight Simulator" "Yep! So crazy it would be a showstopper for me too!" in relation to a project which is only just reaching alpha stages. Is that really how you like to get your way? How about keeping it to Dear Microsoft and Asobo, There are clearly a number of us that use TrackIR in our every day simming and it has become a huge part of the fun and immersion that we find in using the software. Please do give great consideration into incorporating TrackIR into the first full release of the software. or of course you could keep throwing toys out of the pram. It sometimes worked in childhood.

If MSFS does not fit my needs, I'll abstain from the purchase. I'm fine with the sim stuff I currently own. I am also considering buying a second car, but I would never approach the cars salesman with 'dear salesman, please do give great consideration into showing me a car with AC'. Would you? No, I would go to one of the other 60 or so major car brands that offer 1000s of different models to choose from. When we have 60 vendors providing 1000s of different flight sims I might well call their "huge mistake crazy" but I would at least wait until the feature set was locked down. I'm not sure that comparing the purchase of a ~$100 piece of software and a $whatever_you_spend_on_a_car are that comparable. If they are, I'd love to see you at the grocery checkout 😉

You want this product so badly that you'll do anything to please the supplier. That's fine. But others are not that addicted and use the more common rational approach when buying a product. October 27, 20196 yr So...Have we all come together in goodwill and brotherhood (and sisterhood) to pleasantly agree to peacefully and politely defer to each other, or not? If so, then... "We jointly and collectively ask MSFS to include the implementation for Natural Point's TrackIR in the first edition of their new flight simulator. Such an inclusive decision is likely to produce a greater return on investment through increased sales and wider community support and satisfaction." If not yet, then... "We'll get there eventually, as it is the only logical and positive approach to meeting the hopes and aspirations of a significant portion of the root flight simulation community. Not only that, but eventually this topic will become too boring for naysayers to keep up the barrage of illogical noise" I am sure that if we can agree to this we can meet around the campfire, hold hands and sing: Kindest regards, Spirit Flyer Stephen Edited October 27, 20196 yr by SpiritFlyer

I've taken the "if you can't beat them, join them" approach and have a TrackIR (and some long awaited rudder pedals) on their way to me. I might be in the lambasting group by this time next week, but in the meantime count me in for some Kumaya'ing. I'll dig out the woggle.

Don't know where mine is - that was many years ago. I do remember I got my Archery badge though (flying stuff at an early age, see?).

October 30, 20196 yr Just checked my order status and saw this. I think Amazon might be writing on behalf of Microsoft...
October 30, 20196 yr I very definitely will not use the sim if it has no TIR support. TIR is the only natural way to observe and interact with/in the cockpit environment of an aircraft. Moving silly hat switches all over the place is unintuitive and suited to the XBox/arcade crowd who do that kind of thing without thinking. It is a fundamental and basic interface which should not be overlooked. Edited October 30, 20196 yr by ErichB
