October 25, 20196 yr Afternoon Guys, AILRP offers a wealth of information about your AI files and many ways to set up the AI light environment to suit your individual tastes. Creating and working with groups of the same aircraft types is the way to take your AI infrastructure to the highest realism level. Group creation requires you to set AILRP to Expert level through the Configuration tab. Please go to the Tutorial Video at the top of this forum and view the section starting at the 08:45 mark. The video walks you through setting up Light Presets and how to create and work with your new groups. Please do pay attention to saving Presets because that does make things much quicker and easier. CTRL-Left and SHIFT-L click do work within the grids so batch selecting works just like Excel. Once your groups are created you will not have to re-populate after an auto-update. AILRP will remember them and they will be there after any update. Below is a link to a spreadsheet I use to keep track of my changes. After several requests I have decided to release this to you. Use what you like out of it but keep in mind this is what works for me and may not be what you like. But I have done a lot of video research and believe that I’m close on a lot of aircraft types. Lots of groups in there, I know. If you don’t want that many I have labeled across the top in yellow Quick Start. If you do these 4 you will get a nice separation between types and busy airport operations will look amazingly lifelike! One more thing, the Default Global Fleet is created for you at install and that is where all aircraft will reside unless/until you create one or more groups. That group needs to stay and must never be completely empty. The program always opens in that fleet and since it’s a database can’t be empty. I have 5 Aero Commanders in my fleet, and they stay in my Default Global. Enjoy and I hope you find it useful! I’m around the forums frequently, usually here or the P3D so if you have any comments or questions Simbol, myself or any of the Beta Team will be glad to help. October 25, 20196 yr Gerald Thanks for sharing. Question, I see you have 3 groups of Boeing. What is considered Boeing LED? I take it that's the MAX? October 26, 20196 yr Author Hi Dan, You are welcome. Currently I have only B739's in there as I have not activated any Max yet. When the Max does come back it does have LED's so I'll put them in there. Boeing Heavy LED's I have B748 and the 787's. HTH! October 26, 20196 yr Thank you for this handy spreadsheet Gerald! I changed all my aircraft according to your settings and very much like their look now. Another group I have added is Airbus LED for the Sharklet and Neo models. I then reduced their effect intensity based on your Boeing LED settings and it does work nicely. October 26, 20196 yr Author Thanks and glad you like them. Maybe you could share your settings if different from mine and we can get a database going? October 26, 20196 yr I also borrowed Geralds setting to get me started. I added two additional catagories for McDonald Douglas and MD Heavy. Between your spreadsheet and the video I am able to utilize AILRP to its full potential. Tonight I discovered preview mode cycles your groups with ease so you can check your work. How cool is that. 🙂 Dan i9-13900K / Asus Maximus Hero Z790 / RTX 4090 FE / G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 64 GB DDR5-6400 CL32 / Artic Liquid Freezer II 360 / Samsung 980 PRO SSD 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 / Samsung 980 PRO SSD 2TB PCIe NVMe M.2 / Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD 2TB PCIe NVMe M.2 / EVGA 1000W G3, 80+ Gold / Phanteks Eclipse P600S ATX Mid Tower / Arctic P14 PWM Case Fans / LG C2 42 Inch Class 4K OLED TV/Monitor / Windows 11 Pro / 1Ghz AT&T Fiber
October 26, 20196 yr Author It's a great program, isn't it? I really do spend as much time now plane spotting as flying. I love sitting at the end of 9R or 27L at Imaginesim's KATL and just watching. November 2, 20196 yr I would like to create a MD 80-90 Series group, does anybody have a proper config for these? Im currently using default setting. Rick I5 9600k@ 4.8ghz rx580 limping-along 2x 23" 1080P Monitors
November 2, 20196 yr Author Hi Rick, MD aircraft don't currently have a separate config set of their own. They are assigned as Boeing so I have my 80, 90 and 717 in the Boeing group and works out well for me. MD heavies are in my Boeing Heavy group. Hope this works ok for you. Let me know how you get on. November 2, 20196 yr Commercial Member Although this is how Gerald configured his groups nothing stop you from creating a group just for MDs and apply any settings as you like to these airplanes. Best, Gerald I did almost the same, except I created a “Boeing Old” groups which contains my MD’s and 737-200 to -500, mainly so I could use a warmer landing light to make things look a bit more aged.
