November 14, 20196 yr Interesting thing, the Hololens demo project was made to visit the Machu Picchu in 3D using Bing Maps. If you go there with Bing Maps, you will see an awful representation of the Machu Picchu area, wich means they clearly have more data internally than what they provide freely on the internet.

We'll only be able to verify this when we get our hands on the game and check for locations that are poor on the publicly available Bing Maps. November 14, 20196 yr To me there are some new things confirmed: Almost full-backwards compatibility for third party addons! You won’t have to sell addons through a store. Perhaps this means no profit sharing unless you want to use their store. This must be why PMDG got excited about this.

They already told us that they have over (or nearly, can't remember exactly) a thousand photogrammetry locations of which 400 are cities. In the Windows Maps app you can only view those 400 cities. The trailer clearly showed a photogrammetry location of the pyramids which is absolutely flat in Windows Maps. So they should have about 600 more locations than we can see right now.

November 15, 20196 yr Surprised by the comment he didn't notice any pop in or jarring LOD changes since they are quite prevalent in the footage I have seen. Still, it is pre-alpha, and I can't see this being anything but a must buy on release for any flight sim enthusiast.
