It's not called MSFS2020. Change my mind.

Who wants to type out MSFS2020 the whole time.. when MSFS will do..

Because when 2021 rolls around, it will seem outdated. I much prefer to call if MSFS2019 and I heard from a good source that Microsoft will be officially changing all of their Microsoft Flight Simulator branding to MSFS2019 on January 1, 2020 so we can have an outdated name right away as they continue to work on this platform for years to come. ✈️

Keeping on the semantical, almost philosophical by its implications, nature of this thread, I will have a question for the two vocpols. You don’t want us to call the new sim anything else than its official MS name. No nickname, no invented name. Okay. But did your mum and dad call you Noodle and Wobby ?

PS vocpol is, of course, vocabulary police

Now now, no moving the goalposts.

1) I never said no abbreviations. I said adding 2020 to the end is superfluous and undermines the apparent messaging campaign, which is that the new MSFS is more than just another in a long line of evolutionary versions; it literally redefines the franchise.

2) What I choose to call myself--and what I expect others to call me--is the analogy you should be making. If I wear a nametag that says "TOM" and you insist on calling me "THOMAS P.", you'd look pretty silly.

ETA: You guys must surely know that while there's a kernel of truth to my complaint, this isn't much more than an thinly veiled attempt at earning notoriety in the next studio update. Right?

It's my revenge for not making the Tech Alpha 1 cut...

You are now, in my eyes at least, only to be known as:

THOMAS P. NOODLE.

Rolodex updated.

This thread made me think of this old saying,

We the unwilling lead by the unqualified have been doing the unbelievable so long with so little we now attempt the impossible with nothing!

I love it!
