suggestions of a bizjet for P3D4.5

This is the problem. The Falcon 50 and the Learjets are nice, have good systems simulation, look good to great, etc. But, looking at them, I just can't shake the feeling that I'm looking at a couple of crusty jalopies from another era.

Again, my personal opinion, so don't get a case of the vapors because you disagree, but I'd like to have a "study-level" Pilatus PC12NG or a Phenom 300E, with state of the art modern touch screen avionics.

What's the likelihood of a developer for P3D stepping up to the plate on this? I'd say zero. Carenado's "lite" biz jet offerings are cleaning out the market, and the few simmers who would step up and pay $$$ are not enough to justify the investment.

Plus, it seems to take developers anywhere from 5-15 years to bring a high end addon to market. Just look at Eaglesoft. By the time they bring their planes to MS 2020, the concept of an "aeroplane" will be as quaint as a "horse and buggy".

So, our choices continue to be limited.

That said, flying the PC 12 and the Citation S550 with the Flight 1 GTN integration is quite enjoyable and immersive...and Bert Pieke and others have produced excellent mods that add even more enjoyment (and accuracy).

Carenado is like the Stephen King of flightsimming: they just turn them out. Eaglesoft is lilke Donna Tartt: great literature, but by the time a new book comes out half the audience is already dead or in a retirement home.

I had hopes for Eaglesoft until they revealed their astronomical pricing and further money grabbing by locking users into their dev’s navdata.

We devs are developing ways to speed up development so that it *doesn't* take 5 years to bring something out....

I always felt like it took me too long to design anything.  I had to reload, then test, then change something in gmax or photoshop, then reload again.

I'd like to get back into designing 3D objects, but only if there is a streamlined way to go about it...

3D models and textures will always take a couple months. The part that usually takes longer is programming.

I was PM'd why I didn't like the Carenado CJ2. It's simply because the climb is bad. It's supposed to handle up to 3400 ft/min but above FL200 with the suggested N1 climb as 94.6% I'm only getting 500 - 1000 ft/min and I have to push the throttle forward to 100% to get the 1000.

It's not the flight dynamics that are 'bad'. The problem is the displayed power setting limit, which is unfortunately not being updated/increased with increasing altitude. 94.6% is a way too low thrust setting.

Full throttle above 5000-10000ft (and hence climb performance) is correct for climb.

Well you've got both ends of the scale with those two. Love the Mustang, but is really slow lol... ..

The Lear 25 isn't exactly fast either 😉

Obviously not the fastest groundspeed, but in terms of climb performance .. .. ..

Mach 0.82 seems reasonable. Faster than the B737-800 at Mach 0.79. 😉

Of course compared to Concorde (Mach 2.03) everything is slow. 😁

That's strange. According to my data MMO for the Lear 25D is M.81 and for the (time frame) comparable 737-200 it's M.84.

The older Dassault Fan Jet Falcon has a limiting Mach number of M.88.

Sounds like the upcoming carenado c560 will support GTN 750.  Almost worth it.

The old Falcon 20?  Such a cool jet!

@FDEdev, I have the Xtreme Prototypes Lear 25. Maybe that’s why. But it’s a 1970s aircraft so was clearly faster than the 737-200 which I have never owned. That Dassault sounds a beast but I bought the XP version after recommends here.
