Gamepass is not some magical required ticket, it's a game 'rental' service, nothing more. If you buy say, Halo on Steam, you can play without Xbox Live, without an active Gamepas subscription. It is NOT REQUIRED TO PLAY ONLINE. Only if you decide to have a Gamepass subscription do you need to get your games through Microsoft's own service, which again, has nothing to do with playing online, just access to the game itself. Has zero relation or comparison to Gamespy. And would you look at that, in the quote above you, Neumann confirming you DO NOT need Gamepass for ANY features in MSFS, exactly opposite of what you claimed and couldn't back up. Surprise surprise. That actually isnt the plan tho. Going forward Microsoft do not plan on releasing both XBOX Games and PC games. There will be XBOX games you can also play on a windows 10 PC with the XBOX App. Of which Flight 2020 is a major part. XBOX (Beta) App is the preparation for this.
