No. What I am talking about is photgrammetry trees vs static 3d models that bear no relation to reality. the rest is just you and your msfs2020 activist friends going off topic and trying to distract from the fact that one of (the one and only?) the biggest attractions of msfs2020 seems to be dead on arrival. January 5, 20206 yr To think what will finally terminate this circus of a thread will be a digression about American politics. Good show!

Ah, so we've come full circle? You've realized your absurd attempts to dazzle us with bull excrement has failed, and you're back to simply whining about a teaser video with WIP assets. Cool! Nice doing business with you. I'll be sure to rub your nose in it when the sim actually "arrives" and looks great, appropriately scaled trees and all. EDIT: Also, nice move editing your earlier post to make it appear like you actually provided a link to your nonexistent research paper. But you forgot to address the fact than none of the papers included in that volume agree with your claims. Edited January 5, 20206 yr by Noodle

How about just rephrasing that to: will trees require human intervention to match reality or will they be based on real world types and heights from real world measurements (of any source). "human intervention and thats ok" is not ok. AutoATC Developer
January 5, 20206 yr The atmosphere in the forum and people's behavior, all this has been strongly degraded for some time. Strangely this coincides with the arrival of a guest with obscure motivations but who takes pleasure in criticizing this simulator, denying the obvious and treating with contempt the poor minds that can find interest here on this simulator. This post is nonsense, and appears to be yet another shift of the goalposts. You're asking me/us to answer on behalf of the devs regarding the methodology they will ultimately use to implement a WIP feature? That's an obvious dead-end. Just like this thread. Good day, sir. January 5, 20206 yr Come now. we had this conversation already. I told you this was coming (here or when the org was getting spammed) and you said it would never happen and i was trolling. now it has happened, its not final and im trolling. Just maybe im not the troll here. And the laws of physics do apply to Asobo just the same as every other software company. i da, pričam engliz, i многие другие but if you dont have anything to say. Perhaps dont say anything. Edited January 5, 20206 yr by mSparks AutoATC Developer

Do they have height data for the trees that are not covered by photogrammetry? I don't think they do. I imagine they have to somehow identify trees species from satellite photos (analyse canopy shape and other data) and then scale tree heights appropriately, based on tree species data, with some random variation to make it look naturalistic. January 5, 20206 yr Shrinking the trees will create gaps and more trees objects will be needed to create a wooded feel hence potentially affecting performance. It might be a design decision to make them bigger then real life. P.s. I hope the moderators lock this thread soon. It's gone wildly off topic and for people interested in fs2020 talk only its frankly boring. I feel like I am sifting through ads trying to find the good stuff. Edited January 5, 20206 yr by sanh
January 5, 20206 yr Outside photogrammetic area They use azure and feed it with some rules but here many seems to forgot that. I9-9900K / 64G - 3333Mhz / RTX 2080ti AMP! Edition / 2T NMVE 970EVO+ / 512G NMVE 970 PRO / 2T 960 PRO / Oculus Rift CV1 / X56 Hotas

January 5, 20206 yr Autogen trees look terrible indeed. Just look at this outrageously hideous piece of scenery: All will be fine i9-11900K, RTX 4090, 32 GB ram, Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, TCA Airbus sidestick and quadrant, Reverb G2

January 5, 20206 yr I would very much appreciate this forum even though I have only been here recently. I know that you can't say someone is a liar or a troll without breaking the rules. But people who were reasonable and courteous did not become aggressive without reason. Who is always provoking? Who insults the intelligence of others? Who denigrates moments of shared passion? I hope the question will be asked for the good health of this forum I9-9900K / 64G - 3333Mhz / RTX 2080ti AMP! Edition / 2T NMVE 970EVO+ / 512G NMVE 970 PRO / 2T 960 PRO / Oculus Rift CV1 / X56 Hotas

This is what they did in FSX for the sake of performance. This thinking is exactly the reason we should be concerned about what we see in the preview video. This is what "bean counters" will think when forced to choose between getting good performance (by investing more $$$) or saving $$$ (by putting up with oversized trees).
