October 12, 200619 yr >Try looking on your desktop for MyDocuments, in there should>be a folder call Flightsimulator X demo files. That's where I>found mine.>>Ian.yeah... looked there... i simply dont have this file on my computer... I searched, looked at the suggested folders... It's nowhere... what's the content of the folder? I have other .cfg files like scenery.cfg in my main FSX folder in program files... perhaps it's named something else for who knows why... anyone got a screenshot of the first portion of the FSX.cfg so that i can compare with the .cfg's I have?
October 12, 200619 yr Hi,In Windows Explorer/My Computer, go to Tools/Folder Options/View and make sure the Show Hidden Files button is checked. Then do a Search of your Documents and Settings folder for fsx.cfg, including hidden files and folders.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page

October 12, 200619 yr Excellent! Thank you.I just pulled into Vancouver Int. with all res sliders maxed(!) and was getting 20+ down into 10+ at low level. Amazing. And I was flying the bush at 25+ with the same settings. Granted, I had the water set at 1x and no traffic of any kind, but the autogen and mesh sliders were all pinned to the right. It looked fabulous. Pure haagen-Dazs visuals. The sim isn't even supposed to hit the shleves for another few days and the community has already bumped my FPS by a good 50%! Imagine all the other great tips and tweaks that will hit the forums once everyone has FSX. I think within a month or two many people will be seeing nearly 100% improvement in their FPS.(I think some people will have to eat some crow with their whine.)AMD64-3000/1024RAM/AGP7800GS/1280x1024 ___________________________I'm just flying for the fun of it.
October 12, 200619 yr >>hmmm I dont even have an application data folder under my>username in docs and settings.... and I ran a search in C>drive, no luck...It is a hidden folder, you have to enable show hidden files to see it. On the My computer menu or explorer select 'tools' then 'folder options' then the view tab and make sure 'show hidden files and folders' radial button is selected.
October 12, 200619 yr >If I set the two lines to zero how does it differ or work>better than the below line which is in mycfg because I set the>slider all the way left?>>AUTOGEN_DENSITY=0I just found out that setting the values for the two lines can/will cause problems, so be sure to set them to something greater than 0.
