Microsoft, just a humble advice ;-)

Hey guys !

For the next Alpha, I was thinking that one thing could be good/fair for us desperates but even for Microsoft:
What do you think if MS clearly state their criteria to be accepted in the next Alpha. For us at least, we would have an idea why we have not been chosen but also what to do if we really want to join the testing team. And for MS, they will receive requests mostly from profiles that meet the criteria. Which would be helpful also for them resulting in less headache. Could be an idea 😉

Amen, +1

Next time they might look for middle end systems. So us with high end systems are still out 😕 It would help a lot to know what they are looking for.

I don’t think it’s realistic for us to decide what there criteria should be for there next phase of testing. We have no idea what challenges their facing right now in the build. However I would suggest this.

Anyon that meets the criteria for the next wave should be chosen FIRST from the people that signed up from the beginning.

What you say do not correspond in any point at what I was suggesting... You should read again my post.

I think I read somewhere that giving any sort of advice to Microsoft (humble or not) disqualifies you immediately for all alphas and bravos and possibly also puts you on a blacklist so you can never play the simulator at all! 😂

I don't see why they would do this and figure they probably wouldn't. It is obviously confidential what the criteria is. I think many people here think because they are a pilot or flight sim expert they have something to add. Certainly they do but probably so do thousands of other people. The testing probably doesn't have much to do with someones real flying or flight sim experience. They know what they are looking for as for testers and are obviously filling that need with whatever method they are using. It could be completely random and I don't have a problem with that. They never said first to enter the drawing was going to win.

Think I misread you there, my bad.

As soon as MS reveal the criteria to be accepted, people will start to try to manipulate their survey and DxDiag accordingly to get in.

MS will get more sincere applications if the criteria to be accepted remain in the dark.

This is true also.

Yes, probably. This is true in fact.

But on the other hand, does Microsoft can't catch false dxdiag? Seriously?

I wish they'd allow us to preorder the sim now, and preordering would gain you access to the testing phase of development.

Yeah... cuz that always works in the developer's favor...

I don't think I've seen this happen with a closed alpha (except for early access games), but this could very well be the case with a closed beta that would lead to an open beta.

If Asobo did consider this approach then ironically Asobo might also generate and contribute to a small % of new, early Windows 10 licence sales as Insiders upgrade their PC systems. Not a bad thing, which surely is the whole point of a Windows release first, before Xbox.

I wear not meeting criteria as a badge of honour.
