Assuming that kind of effects work is capable under the engine they are using, then you're good to go.

no, explosions are not voxels calculated in a game engine, it it's basically a pre rendered explosion played as an image sequence.

Just wondering why we are repeating the entire conversation we had a few weeks ago, all over again.

Might be better to just go back and read the last topic on this. Doubt any opinions have changed.

you are not allowed to complain, you didn't make any donation.

I'm sure it would appeal to twelve year-olds - and indeed Michael Bay - to have the new MS flight sim depict massive fireballs erupting from a disintegrating fuselage cartwheeling down the terrain as though the aircraft was delivering a cargo of napalm when it came to grief, but as others have stated, it's not going to happen. No aircraft manufacturer is going to want their product associated with a flight sim which does that.

More importantly, anyone who is really into realistic flight simulation, should be in preference of gaining a product which is the sort of software aircraft manufacturers would want to be associated with, far more than any desire to have it look like Roland Emmerich's demo reel.

In a 172 doing 160 kts, flaps would be redundant.  You'd already be going downhill fairly rapidly.

This is a pointless discussion.

Those that don't have the stomach for "crash 'n burn" will have the simple option to alleviate their anxiety and fears. Toggle this stuff off.

Damage from hard landings, tail-strikes, and wing-swipes can be career-ending incidents for rl pilots.

Asabo is fundamentally a GAMING house ie their whole rationale is to provide an ENTERTAINING and exciting spirit to their products in a field where realistic simulation and destruction is literally par for the course.

The VERY REASON why Asabo have brought such fresh excitement and verve to FS2020, is precisely BECAUSE of the unique GAMING mindset that they have brought to this field from their previous gaming experience and products.

Smoke in the cockpit? Engines that explode and set the wing afire and blow holes in the fuselage? Tires that catch alight because the brakes were used too hard? Birds-strikes that smash the cockpit window, and then the pilot gets sucked out by the sudden depressurisation?

All these have been real-life incidents which have been the supreme test of the competency and thorough training of the crews.

And reproducing this stuff is now ROUTINE and well within the expertise of ANY gaming house, AND the processing power of a modern PC.

Asabo should keep burning to their original gaming flair and passion (it's what got them this job in the first place!).  And NOT succumb to the jaded whims of a stuffy old guard that are closer to the grave than the cradle!

Charming, isn't it ? As it was easy to anticipate, the thread is rapidly going South. Same cause, same effect. Basic forum science.

If you can't bring constructive comment, rather hold your pointless snide personal comments to yourself.

Good!  I suggest you STICK to your rule then.  No exceptions!

Welll… no.

No bird flys high enough that if it hit a plane it would cause a depressurization that would suck the pilot out.  That happened once because the windshield had been improperly fitted and came apart in flight under pressure.

If you mean I didnt contribute to the other, recent thread on this, then I suggest you go back and read it. I made numerous posts in support of damage modelling. I also pointed out that the developer has told us, in the podcast linked to in this forum, that they are restricted by the licensing... but will apply as much damage modelling as the licence will allow.

You wont change the developers mind on this because they CAN'T change their mind due to the licensing agreement.

All I see in this thread is an almost identical conversation to the one we had a couple of weeks ago. But if you wish to rehash every point already made... go right ahead.

Pointless though because 1. We've already done this. 2. The developer has told us what they CAN and WILL do.
