February 23, 20206 yr if if I fly with a friend in multiplayer it would be nice if I can kiss wings slightly touching eachother affecting dynamics, also for refueling my friend in the air. it would be very sad if multiplayer is ghost style as if I can fly through other players.
February 23, 20206 yr Be weird if you could fly through planes. Also weird if there were no wing vortexes and other air effects from other planes. My brother has Coronavirus, confirmed by testing. On 3/26 he almost didn't survive the night. He had extreme trouble breathing and was given a steroid inhaler. He was very weak, had nausea, and other issues that aren't pleasant. As of this update he is feeling much better, and seems he will be fine. Stay safe out there. (Updated 4/6)
February 23, 20206 yr Whoa steady on. If we're going there, I want to be able to land, get out, and high five my wingman. P3Dv4 + XP11 MFS
February 23, 20206 yr I'd rather kiss a wingwoman than a wingman, but that's my personal opinion😉 About planes touching in flight, I assume that aircraft will just bounce off of eachother, to avoid damage. Because this doesn't seem like a good way to have a respectful conversation. 23 hours ago, GlideBy said: flaps damaged from going too fast Didn't say falling off. But you seem to imply that flaps can't get damaged? VFE is the max speed for full flap deployment. And from AOPA: "VFE, the maximum velocity at which the airplane can be flown with its flaps fully extended, is the high-speed limit of the white arc. Flying at speeds greater than VFE with full flaps can result in damage, perhaps to the point of losing one or both flaps. Not a good thing. A number of airplanes, however, do allow the use of approach flaps, usually around 10 degrees, at speeds higher than VFE. The POH will give the specific details." https://www.aopa.org/training-and-safety/students/maneuvers/topics/airspeed Lastly, I believe you meant the contraction of "you are" which is "you're". February 24, 20206 yr Whatever damage Textron allows to be simulated in the license agreements with the sim developers is fine with me, including whatever restrictions they place on it. Same with Boeing and all the other manufacturers. As for collisions in multiplayer, enjoy your open multiplayer sessions. If they're going to allow it, at least have it where both parties have to have collisions with other aircraft turned on for it to be possible. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! The devs made various options/settings to deal with this. Like you could set collisions to "No One", or "Friends Only", or "Group and Friends Only", etc. You could even make it so you only saw your friends or people in your invite only group/passworded group. Same for chat and voice/radio blocking. There were more options, but that covers the general idea. Hopefully the Multiplayer video will cover these anti-griefing options. Unless multiplayer is only private servers, you're gonna want at least an option to turn ghost mode on. Look at some of the ridiculous stuff that goes on in FSX multiplayer Youtube vids some time. It'll be that kind of chaos at best, and that's assuming a "real-griefer"-free environment. That's why multiplayer-anything almost never interests me. Unless it's very strictly controlled (which it rarely is because that costs money) even the best multiplayer environments eventually descend into a swirling morass of stupid. There were no griefers and we all had a lot of fun. In some ways it was like a chat room with a 3D world. There was some serious flying and some just-for-fun stuff. I showed one user a route I took to hit all the tour flight destinations on one island, for example, and a bunch of people got together to see how many aircraft they could land on top of a particular hangar at the same time (11 if I remember correctly) or on top of the Hilo control tower (3 was the max). One time I landed near a city to watch the sunset. I only wish I'd had someone else there to discuss it at the time. We know one guy here who really loves multiplayer formation flying. Multiplayer air combat sims are incredible. I spent a lot of time in WarBirds, sometimes joining the flight, sometimes just sitting in the "control tower" and watching the action. February 24, 20206 yr Yeah, that was fun. And only because Flight didn't last long enough for the idiots to find it. There's always a cycle with online games. The first few days/weeks/maybe months (depending on how initially popular the game is) are usually pretty good. And then the trolls find it and it turns to junk. Same thing happened in Red Dead Redemption 2 Online. For the first month or so you could play for hours without being griefed (if the stupid thing managed to not crash for that long, which was rare). Now, griefers have hacked 2-headed invincible zombie skeletons into the game which kill every player in sight, and they've figured out how to drain all your money, etc etc. There's a subset of net.cretins who look around for something that people are enjoying and then make it their life's mission to kill the fun. Happens in every online game I've ever played, going all the way back to Interstate 76. Ryzen 7 7800X3D/B650 X AX | 5090 | 32gig | Win10 | Pimax Crystal Light
February 24, 20206 yr I myself do not play any of these games, never have never will. I’m strictly a flight simmer, but I can easily see that happening. There always someone wanting to ruin it for others! J. R.
February 24, 20206 yr If you're going to play on public servers with no supervisors them you have to expect fools to mess things up. Run your own server where you have control. Kick the trouble makers and if necessary, ban them. Or, make the server private. That way you only have the people you want on. Simple. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
