April 10, 20206 yr To answer OP’s question fully, v2, v3 and v4 were all full price upgrades. When I started with v1 on release, it was seriously expensive. The base sim is cheap when compared to all the addons that most of us buy. I recommend buying each new P3D version on release, as that means you’ll get your full 2-3 years worth out of it. Many said they weren’t upgrading to v3 (i remember i made one of the first positive posts when that version was getting trashed here!) and v4. But history says almost everyone ends up upgrading eventually, so why not do so at release. I think it’s worth it for the clouds alone. April 10, 20206 yr He's MY friend and you can't have him. Jeez, I must get out more. BTW, We don't have Nairas we have sesterces, about $3.25 each The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA

April 10, 20206 yr I'll upgrade for under $70-$80 otherwise I'll wait till FS2020 because you still have to pay for payware upgrades. It's just getting too ridiculous then. Edited April 10, 20206 yr by VBHB Running i5-9600K @ 4.8ghz - 32GB DDR4 3200mhz - GTX 3070.
April 11, 20206 yr Why all the drama? As far as we know, nothing has changed - the licensing and upgrade policy is the same as it has been since P3D v1.3 was released in 2012. April 11, 20206 yr Imho there will be no discountz Why should LM do that after adding new big changes and trying all to keep backwards compatibility... You really think that all those people working at the LM flightsim department would work for a part of their salary ? Imagine car manufacturers : do you get a big ‘upgrade’ discount if you have bought the last model en now a newer one will be released ... ? 😂😂😂 Edited April 11, 20206 yr by GSalden 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0

May actually pick up V5 if performance is considerably better, which it seems to be. Sloped runways sound exciting, too. Good times ahead. I feel exactly the same way, even though I've had 4 for a few years now. Another $60 isn't going to kill me, and the improvements look significant.
