April 16, 20206 yr Just wondering if clouds and sky colours by Rex can still be used or if they will conflict with trueSky or sky textures in v5. Likewise if Envshade can still be used in v5. April 17, 20206 yr Commercial Member Maybe copy the finished files from v4.5? In jurisprudence, there is a principle - you look for the person who benefits.
April 17, 20206 yr SimMarket sent out an update for Envtex and Envshade, for 4.5 HF3 compatibility. However, they also noted in both; "This updates brings Prepar3D v4.5 Hotfix 3 compatibility. (Compatibility with P3D v5 will be added shortly)." April 17, 20206 yr Regarding shaders and P3Dv5, the message of TOGA is crystal clear : Quote Envshade will be totally incompatible with Prepar3D v5 as it is right now, but of course we will update it as soon as possible just like Envtex to support all legacy features of the sim and this will be released as a free update. After that we will also take a closer look at how Envshade can be adapted to the newly added truesky and this may demands a very low upgrade fee. April 17, 20206 yr Try first the new default shaders 😉on my system they are way better then Envshade or PTA or Rex has ever done. Edited April 17, 20206 yr by rob0203

On mine, it's too dark, too much saturated. I event unticked HDR...which I was addict on v4 but prefer OFF in v5. A matter of personal taste. Vincent B. April 17, 20206 yr Same here, way to dark and way to saturated. Then I simply used the same HDR settings as I had in v4 and off we go, everything is fine. Using "enhanced atmospherics" results in visuals that are almost on par or in the hazy distance even better with what I had using REX EF. As I understand it if you disable the atmospherics in v5 theoretically you should be able to load Rex Textures and they should display fine, bar some colour changes. I wrote to REX and they have replied: "Thank you for contacting our support team. We are presently investigating our options with their new simulator. We are very hopeful with our progress." The current default trueSky clouds look to me not quite right and far too blury and reckon Rex are working to replace them eventually with better and more defined versions. Envshade are already working to make the program compatible with v5. I am still using v4.5 until more developers update their products to v5 and avoiding installing anything that is not v5 compatible.
