April 18, 20206 yr Hello, I'm a hugh fan of AI. It makes my sim always looking much more realistic. In this topic I provide (for beginners) the necessary thing (in my eyes) for an good AI-Traffic System (what I use - what I think). This can be used of course for your flying experiences also for spotting. A lot of you guys like Aircraft's and like spotting on airports, but with an good AI System you can do this also from your PC at home. Main Package (AI-Aircraft, Sounds, Flightplans): the AIG AIM (OCI) Link: https://www.alpha-india.net/forums/index.php?topic=28686.0 ---> this link will maybe change when V1 is released Flightplans: They use schedules (no Live Data), these are updated from time to time and provide realistic flightplans for Airlines (Passenger and Cargo), GA Flightplans will follow in some time Aircraft: High quality AI Aircraft will be installed with every installed Flightplan AI Aircraft Flightdynamics: will be automatically updated via the OCI to become much more realistic (Approach Speed, Landing Speed, Braking Distance, ... ). Exclusivly for the OCI, not puplic! Sound: AI Traffic Sound will be installed automatically which SIM's are supported: at the moment Prepar3dv4 (but you can add it via the the add-on.xml to v5 - but not 100% compatible at night at the moment) - but it will be updated for sure for v5 in the next few days/weeks. I don't post an explained instruction how to bring it manually over to v5, when you guys have some experience with the sim structure you know how to handle the add-on.xml. It's your own risk, don't expect any support. Costs: FREEWARE Forum Login for the Alpha India Group: they provide the most immersive (and free) things for AI (including the OCI Installer), here you get support, more infos and much more Costs: FREEWARE Payware AI Aircraft: FSPX available at Simmarket https://secure.simmarket.com/fspxai-(de_1118).mhtml I'd like to have these in my sim, they will be automatically installed via the OCI if you have purchased them Necessary: NO / Recommended: YES Costs: ok, not cheap ATC Sound: at the moment I use EditVoicePack for the default ATC. Much more realistic. Maybe this will change in some time to get some freeware stuff via AIG Basepack: https://secure.simmarket.com/bevenel-editvoicepack-(de_8767).phtml Soundfiles: available at AVSIM, JCAI.DK and the AIG Forum Link for JCAI.DK Voicepacks: https://jcai.dk/category/editvoicepack/ updated ADE's (provided from me via JCAI.DK): they provide much more realistic data then the default (in your Payware Scenery included) ones more Parkingsposts, adjusted Parkingspots, Gate Assignments, updated AI-Aircraft Trafficflow, updated Approaches, and much more Link: https://jcai.dk/category/afcad/ Some more are available in the AIG Forum and in the AVSIM Forum (not 100% compatible with the OCI!) Costs: FREEWARE AI-Aircraft Lights: I use FS Reborn Lights, much more realistic Link: https://www.fsreborn.com/ Costs: ok, not cheap - but highly recommended SODE: I suggest to enable AI Traffic Detection in your SODE Manager, the the SODE-Jetways will dock automatically to all of your AI-Aircraft, much more realistic SuperTrafficBoard: I suggest to use the SuperTrafficBoard for controlling you AI. You can see which AI is around you, an Departure / Arrival Board for your Airport, AI - Aircraft can be put on hold or be deleted if you want, AI will be hold away from your aircraft when you are on approach. I love it - it's fantastic! Link: http://www.supertrafficboard.com/ Costs: ok, not cheap - but highly recommended Little Navmap: highly recommended! You can see on a map which aircraft is around you, which ADE's are installed, you see the Airport Layout with parking - taxiways - and everything else, you have an flightplanner, and much much more! Link: https://albar965.github.io/littlenavmap.html AI Ships: personally I use the fantastic AI Ship Package from Hendrik Nielsen Download: https://www.flightsimnorway.com/addons/?funct=dl&pack=aishipsn Costs: FREEWARE I'm using always 100% AI, and I'm fine with it. I have an really old PC (4770K, GTX 1080) and it runs fine, even with High End Payware Aircraft. It will be much better with Prepar3dv5 (I've already tested it in the new FlyTampa EKCH with 100%AI - I'm getting always between 25 and 60 FPS at this airport - flying with the default Carenado in low circles over the airport - much more than I get normally in v4) Have fun with your AI Urmel! April 18, 20206 yr I'm also very interested in having the best high quality and most realistic AI traffic in P3D v5 as well. Do you know of any high quality AI sound add-ons that will add sounds unique depending on what plane it is? I don't want all planes to sound the same. I've been waiting for an all in one AI package that has amazing high quality 3D models along with high quality sounds with FSReborn's lights. But can't find anything out there that has it all. I really wish there was a complete high quality AI traffic solution for P3D v5 that would have it all in the box where we don't have to go out and find and download each individual models, and then compile traffic routes, and add in the lights and sounds for all the different types of aircrafts, that is too much work. I would pay for a good all-in-one AI traffic solution. AIG OCI (the first link in this thread postey by Urmel) will give you the models, textures, flightplans, and sounds. You only need to press a few buttons and the program even comes with a bulk installer. This is pretty much the equivalent to Global Traffic but just on a far more evolved and detailed level. And the best? It' is freeware. Everything else that is explained here by Urmel (thanks for this well done and comprehensive explanation btw!) is somehow a bonus that can further improve your experience. But to get you started, you only need the AIG OCI installer. OCI also includes a freeware alternative to the mentioned payware models. Only the A330-900neo is not available as freeware. I had forgotten how bad it is. Bought on release, wrecked P3D, necessitated a complete reinstall. Just reinstalled it now. It thinks its on the author's computer, so goes looking for files in his OneDrive folder!! Support forum is locked down and hard to access even of you have bought the program. Early access is fine, but not if devs communicate poorly. This is the single worst piece of software I have ever had the displeasure of purchasing for a flight simulator. Avoid it like the plague, and I am talking about a really bad plague here, not just an average ebola-type plague. JustFlight, if you are reading this, I am willing to pay YOU $20 to remove this piece of trash from my computer (which is what I am trying to do right now, as my P3D install is once again riddled with errors). In case my comment is a little unclear on what my true feelings are on this piece of "software", DO NOT BUY TRAFFIC GLOBAL. April 18, 20206 yr Is this fully compatible with P3D v5? I think they're still working on that, so we may have to wait. I think that's the only thing that needs converting in order to work fully with P3D v5. But I may buy those FSPXAI models to use with AIG AIM depending on how the free models look. Also will the sound be high quality and unique to each plane and is FSReborn compatible with P3D v5? Also will the sound be high quality and unique to each plane and is FSReborn compatible with P3D v5? It is listed as being compatible with v5. It has the option to install in v5. It wrecked my beautiful new v5 install, which I am now trying to fix. "We may have to wait"....good luck with that. Whilst trying to find solutions to my Traffic Global problems, I have been finding the Avsim posts about this program from 2018. Oh, how naive we were, how confident, with hope in the future... Hey, maybe I missed the part of the story where this program briefly worked with the current P3D sim. Who knows. All I can say is that if I had to choose between installing this and stuxnet, I would choose stuxnet, and that is assuming that I was running a centrifuge. Also will the sound be high quality and unique to each plane and is FSReborn compatible with P3D v5? AIG OCI or JF's traffic global? For AIG OCI, it does already work in v5. Only some models have anomalies with their dynamic lights as the default landing light effects that come with P3D are missing a setting that is necessary for PBR compliance. Ironically enough the SDK demands that setting. But Kai from AIG already informed LM about this issue. However, official compatibility will only come after the issues are fixed. FSReborn is not yet compatible. But Simbol is working on a free update and he worked hard with LM during the beta to allow even more and better effects in v5. AI Sounds that come with OCI are not on a TSS level. But this would be an overkill for AI. But there are 55 unique soundsets for the common types and engine variations. Thus, CFM powered aircraft will sound differently than the IAE version. And FSPXAI payware models? Well, it is a preference of taste. I own them all and like their shape/model/paintkit variations a tad more. You also get frequent and free updates and I somehow want to support the modeler, who worked in the past for Posky and also made the Level-D 767 models. However, all of the freeware counterparts got massively updated in the last months. They got new antennas, domes, wingflex, PBR, etc. So just give the freeware a try first and see if you like them. If you're the kind of person who has a pathological hatred of seeing AI traffic in your sim, and also loves fixing P3D installs rather than flying, I'd give Traffic Global both thumbs up. If you're more of an "I actually like traffic!" kind of guy, AIG will suit you better.
