So, how are you the only one not hitting VRAM limitations with an 8GB card running Ultra 4096 with autogen sliders set to 3/4 of Max. It's just not possible in P3Dv5HF1.

The readings in the top left hand corner say, GPU Memory  4.9-5.7/ 6.6 GB.  The number fluctuates depending what im fly over etc... It hits the 5.7 over LAX area. Orbx So.Cal Day flight with fair weather ect....  Has yet to crash on me.

Do you have Dynamic Texture Streaming checked?

From my experience so far with just orbx stuff installed as addons and some payware airports, Im flying the PC12 around , and the Vram usage is alot more 'harnessed' shall we say. I did have 3 CTDs unfortunately with the stupid general kernalbase.dll error.     Troubleshooted that for awhile. After shutting down REX, Ive been flying for over 2 hours now.  My 1070 is relatively weak so thats the real bottleneck but still was getting decent fps and most importantly it was overall  quite smooth with this new VRR built in with my G-sync compatible monitor. (although its baseline refresh is not very low) .  The install was complete, and new cfg's added.   Shaders cleared too.   IMHO, the vram usage is alot better managed than RTM release.  Performance roughly the same.  Onwards and upwards.

Testing your settings on my end and I get Device_Hung on takeoff from LAX, which is what I expected. Their is simply not enough VRAM for those settings. So you must have a miracle 8GB RTX2080 Super Duper.

DEVICE_HUNG is not the same as out of VRAM. OOVM can trigger DEVICE_HUNG in some cases, that's all.

And I don't recommend 4096 textures as it doesn't make a difference, 2048 are more than enough.

I was monitoring RTSS VRAM utilization spike to over 7GB, I would say that that error was VRAM related. Not sure why Ed_S_Pilot is having such success with such high settings, in contrast to everything that has been discussed on this forum with regards to 8GB cards or less.

Disabling Vsyn in P3D with unlimied frame rates and choosing 1/2 refresh rate Vsync in the Nvidia settings will cap your fps to 30 and bring better smoothness.

too much, too soon....
