Cosford 2020 cancelled

Featured Replies

We all knew that it was coming, but I am still gutted that the Cosford 2020 Flightsim Show has been officially cancelled  Attending the show at Cosford is one of the highlights of my year, and last year was the best yet because I was able to be part of the FSReborn exhibitor team. I really hope that I can do that again one day....

I had noted it had been postponed last March.  It`s unfortunate that it`s been cancelled. Le Bourget will hopefully happen next year as scheduled; but last March  it had also been announced that Farnborough was cancelled; along with so many other aviation events worldwide including AirVenture 2020 (Oshkosh) which was cancelled just a few days ago.

Drat, Christopher. I was hoping to cadge another ride down with  a famous fellow-NW, and catching up with is latest sim as well as non-sim news. I had an odd feeling it might be off, but as it's October end-wards, was putting very long odds on that. Now, you have just cut those odds. There goes my ride🤣

When was it scheduled? Those cancellations are going further and further into the future. I see pretty much all planned events being cancelled for this year, at least.

Kind regards, Michael

Was looking forward to going for the first time to try out some new hardware.
Really fed-up of this virus. It's been a word not allowed last couple of months.

Hope it's back next year as big as and as well-attended as it was last year.

Was kind of expecting this, but it's still a bit of a bummer. Still, in the grand scheme of things there are bigger things to worry about.

Seems a bit premature when it’s October. But if monies have to be paid now perhaps that’s the reason. And with overseas visitors how do they get here when the airline industry is going through such bad times. Sad as it’s always nice to catch up with the U.K. people from this site.

It would have been very lucrative for Chris at Fulcrum too as I’m sure he would have shifted loads of his yoke.

2020 is turning into a year to forget for all sorts of reasons. 😪

Had been looking forward to catching up with you, there, Ray and hopefully my Welsh friend from South Wales. Alas!

That is specifically the reason why I was going to go.
It's not often you have the opportunity to test hardware before buying hardware in this hobby. It looks like a very interesting piece of kit.

It's a real pain because it's the only event me and Pete / John now go to. At least there's this place! 👍

Poor Chris. First he has the virus preventing the electronic board being provided and now he can't showcase the yoke. But, once the lockdown is lifted he lives close enough to Heald Green near Man Airport to visit the NWFSG monthly meeting. He has brought a pre-production version earlier this year. If you live within reasonable distance that could be an opportunity to try before you buy.

Yeah, I missed last year's and was hoping to make amends this year. Still, it is only a drop in the ocean to what else has come to a grinding halt elsewhere, globally. ANd like you say, we have this avenue to explore, cordially.

It would have been nice if we could have organised some kind of online event to replace it this year.....
