Active Sky has new update today

Featured Replies

Active Sky has been updated today.  I tried two flights afterwards and at least, in my opinion, it's a little harder on the FPS than the last version.  I could be wrong, so see if you feel the same.  Haven't noticed much difference in clouds or the way weather is depicted.

I have just installed and tried it and it’s working flawlessly. No fps problem.

Thanks for the heads up. Downloaded and will test it out later this evening.

I may be imagining things, but I made a minor change to P3D and AS today and it seems to help slightly. I lowered my cloud draw distance from 90 to 80, both in the sim and in AS. I think it might let the CPU breathe a hair more. Honestly, sitting in my Airbus at 35,000 feet, I can't really see the difference visually but I think it might help a bit.

Fine!  Is the weather changing smooth?  No abrupt cloud change?

Haven’t quite tested with a full flight  as of yet.

noticed thou clouds did load faster immediately loading sim where as before it would take a a few seconds.

just in response to stan about having a performance drop with fps.

That’s good news. I’ll try today. I may have jumped to a wrong conclusion. It could have been some other factor in my flights that caused the drop.

Stan, I’m guessing this is for v5 only. If so can you please add a tag to your post to indicate this? Lots of us are still flying v4.5. 😉

Yes, Ray.  You're right. My comments were meant for V5 only.  Sorry.  I'll make sure I do that on next topic I get involved with.  I still have 4.5 on my computer, but not using it.
