mac is going to run into issues.

firstly the metal graphics api has no support for the opengl bridge.

secondly mac opengl setup is different than linux and windows and no mac devs have contributed yet.

As i said i have no idea about the Macs

But thanks for the info.

The lighting on sunset is very pleasing.

Anyway, it's promising but you know how it is, we'll see how it goes and how further can it be developed 🙂

I'm pretty much satiated tbh.

moving with the wind and 50fps in VR in the helo.

CB is still a very nice to have, but this is already a generation better than default. They are just so fluffy I could fly circles around them all day.

I think I'm doing something wrong.  These are just the regular textures I see.  In the zip I downloaded the name of the zip was volumetric clouds - experimental.  Do I copy this entire zip and extract it to the plugins folder?  Or do I take the folder within the zip called "volumetric clouds" and put that in the plugins?  Oh I added two pics of my current plugins (maybe something is conflicting?)  And scripts for flywithLUA

Looking at his zip, you need to make a folder called "64" inside the volumetric clouds folder and put win.xpl in there.

I don't even see the win.xpl - is that included with the download?  Maybe I got the wrong files.

Thanks got them.  Wow FPS murderer!  lol.  I do run 8xSSAA with my GTX 1080 Ti at 1080P - but with these clouds I've had to back to 2x....still only get 20 fps.

Seeing how its the very first iteration - it could be good with optimization.

edit actually: doesn't work great entering clouds...  XP11 crashed with a vulkan error.

They hate any AA, hopefully it will be possible to get them drawn after the AA step - although that will need Laminar to make some changes.

when everythings going right the actual fps impact is basically nothing, but right now his priority is understanding how it works with different hardware and where the basic bugs are.

I think this is an old one, should be 05 or 06 for the latest

LGPL.... soooo. given I made these videos in 2018

In a "I can't believe I need to point out how unacceptable this is, but I'm going to anyway" kind of way.

And xEnviro, skymaxx and friends didn't want to take my money.

Anything else just wouldn't be cricket.

My fork is

https://github.com/mSparks43/Volumetric-Clouds

I'll probably put what I've been playing with on another branch, that was just starting to merge the logic with xtlua, just wanted to show off the power of what he has built.

function animate_value(current_value, target, min, max, speed)

    local fps_factor = math.min(0.1, speed * SIM_PERIOD)

    if target >= (max - 0.001) and current_value >= (max - 0.01) then
        return max
    elseif target <= (min + 0.001) and current_value <= (min + 0.01) then
       return min
    else
        return current_value + ((target - current_value) * fps_factor)
    end

end

function after_physics()
    for i = 0, 2, 1 do
      cldDR_cloud_base_datarefs[i]=animate_value(cldDR_cloud_base_datarefs[i],simDR_cloud_base_datarefs[i],0,30000,1)
      cldDR_cloud_type_datarefs[i]=simDR_cloud_type_datarefs[i]
    end
end

I'm building/testing on 11.50 vulkan, there is opengl and 11.41 versions (code is slightly different for each), if you jump on his discord there's a fair bit of sharing of code and experience.

Thanks , i will try to compile yours.

BTW i am no programmer but have extensive knowledge of Linux systems due to my work , i just know how to use cmake just to build 😁
