I don't need to know that you won't purchase FSX.

Featured Replies

If you want to drive that point do so to the MS team via email. There are so many posts proclaiming that people won't buy FSX. Why would you post that you're not going to buy something? You don't like it that's fine, but posting something along the lines of "I won't buy it so meh!" doesn't do much but make you look like a 5 year old.Hey, guess what? I bought it! So meh!! Enjoy the inferior flight modelling offered by FS9 with it's unrealistic turbulence and lack of ground effect. That is all.James

The flight modelling hasn't changed to any significant degree. Other things have changed to make the flight modelling seem better. Suggest loooking in the mirror. It's not your forum to dictate who can and cannot post.Besides, posting here, KNOWING that the ACES team will receive the message, seems eminently more sensible than taking the anonymous route through tell_fs.Enjoy your FSX.Allcott

More proof that we can't say anything remotely critical on this forum :-rollThe critics will continue to criticize ..... the zealots will continue to wax lyrical ..... ;)

i agree with the original poster. the flight dynamics have been improved greatly. i agree that people should be able to post what they like but the whole point of the forum is to share our ideas and opinions about FSX. however i notice this forum has several people who havent bought FSX and dont plan to do so. thats fine, but please avoid posting "i aint gonna buy FSX" on every thread, we get the picture - FS9 forum is just down the road. the original poster is NOT saying you cant say anything negative about FSX. its just that those of us who have FSX find it difficult to find any posts relating to FSX (good and negative posts) when all we see are loads of posts by people who dont have FSX and dont plan to buy it.to be honest, i think most of us are only interested in reading the comments (good and bad) of people who have FSX. i think thats what irritates the original poster (and me too sometimes). i couldnt care less if someone doesnt want to buy it.however, these people have the right to post on these forums and its the original poster's right to ask why.its all opinions folks, lets try and get along :)

I can/could understand posting re: problems with FSX or NOT problems but posting in the FSX forum just to say you aren't gonna buy it seems a bit over the top. Now if ya posted in the FS9 forum saying the same thing I might see that.:D

Great smart post...... geeezIf you mean my post it just said that I

Man I love 13 year olds that daddy buys thema computer and there happy to get in the cessna and do loops and rolls in. Its so so so much fun! Unfortunetly for people like me when I used it as a training tool for real life flying it doesn't crack up to what it says it can be. Not without an additional $500 in add ons. AS far as the argument of trubulence and flight model? Have you seen the commercial on TV yet? Well lets see here they would definetly run it on the best equipment so it looks great for the advertisement. So then why is the Beech Baron that is flying in a thunderstorm violently shaking up and down like its being hit with a hammer? Thats pretty unreal. Why is it that even on Aces computers that were more then likely used for the advertisement are there frames choppy and they can't even get smooth play out of it with any level of detail? Hmmmmm

I enjoy reading all the posts myself so you don't speak for me. The solution to your problem is not to open the threads that speak negatively about fsx. Problem solved.

Gee-I fly a beech Baron in real life, and I find fsx a remarkable improvement for the training area. Of course-autogen has to be turned off to have this(and thus a $500 upgrade is not necessary)-but since it is for training purposes I am not really interested in little houses and trees being depicted and only miss this effect for atmosphere while on the ground due to the new high detail textures. The flight dynamics of the Baron have improved considerably-this is the first version of FS in years where a landing feels like a landing.I do miss my Dreamfleet Baron, and am annoyed that changing the props still doesn't effect the sound-but finally having a pitch stable aircraft, smooth moving gauges even in the vc, and being able to land in a xwind and feel ground effect-much better! With fs9 I spent my whole time hunting back and forth like a yo-yo on my altitude, and then chasing slow moving gauges. Not so in fsx. In fact I had totally lost interest in fs9 for the last year and a half due to the poor control responses of the aircraft-the eye candy looked nice but what good if you can't fly in a realistic manner. Now is a different story-completely!As far as flying in a violent t-storm shaking up and down like it is being hit with a hammer-I personally have never done that-but I have talked to some who have and that was pretty much their description of it-but again I wouldn't know. And speaking of training-I have already had several multiplayer/shared cockpit sessions with a student pilot friend of mine-one a training flight, one where I acted as atc and threw everything I could think of at him, and another a sightseeing flight over some nice territory I have flown over.Talk about training!-this is just simply amazing...http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

The solution to your problem is not to open the>threads that speak negatively about fsx. Problem solved.I think the point is: People who say they are not going to buy FSX, don't really have any idea if they really hate it or not, now do they? Some of the naysayers are relying on posts made by other naysayers who don't own it either, a really reliable source!Others are relying on some screenshots to say how bad FSX is! They have no idea as to how the sim feels. Static pictures don't tell us much except show the eyecandy.I own FSX and I enjoy it, although reading some of the posts from people who don't own it, I should really hate this sim!I read most of the threads here, and appreciate peoples critiques, but only if they actually own the sim. I, too, could care less about posts from people who say they are not going to buy it? Pete S.

Maybe the wife can spring for some more cash...L.Adamson -- pilot/EAA/AOPA/plane owner/grandpa & all that stuff. But I do enjoy FSX!

Good, so in turn stop posting how much you love FS and that you bought it. You like it fine, but posting something along the lines of "I love it, so meh" doesn't do much but make you look like a 5 year old.Turn around is fair play. Your post (and other posts like yours) is equally as worthless as those posts you wish to repremand, can you not see this? And it adds another thread of no use to the forum in the same fashion that you are complaining about in the first place!Has the world gone mad????

FS-X has low fps, has a half abandoned landclass sytem that makes the whole planet a desert, makes landbridges in rivers by design and doesn't run smooth unless butchered so you won't use most of its selling points. You need to activate this software but somethimes you can't and sometimes a small driver switch make you loose activationOn top of that you need a very highclass system when you want to fly above cities with any kind of graphics and the move the camera via the mouse system isn't even up to the level of FS2004 active camera. Now do you want to fill this forum with its so great nothing wrong with it so we sucker uniformed users into this tweaknightmare or do you wnat to keep the posts from both sides of the spectrum so people can actually inform themself about what FS-X is and how it wil work for them. This is not your personel let's cheerup the glass is half full forum.I'm sure FS-X is great for bush flying GA aircraft in high res landscapes without autogen. Happy that you like it but don't assume thats what everybody wants

>>>I read most of the threads here, and appreciate peoples>critiques, but only if they actually own the sim. >I, too, could care less about posts from people who say they>are not going to buy it? >>Pete S.Pete, I understand your point but my previous statement stands when I say don't open the thread if you don't want to read about it. Problem: solution.Never ASSume that because someone doesn't own the retail sim that they aren't initimately familiar with it. I don't own the sim, but i was a beta tester (the beta and demos actually) and still fly the beta daily. I don't plan on buying the retail for a few months myself but i still feel qualified to post based on my experience with the beta. Every thing that i have read so far leads me to believe that the retail actually runs slower than the beta which is why i plan on holding off. Even the ACES development team told me that framerates had not been improved 'much' from the beta at the AVSIM conference. Talk about direct from the horse's mouth! The beta is borderline for me, but still playable and i want to keep it that way until core quadro comes out early next year and i upgrade. I actually love the sim other than the framerate issues and the design choices that were made which led to the framerate issues. That's more of a project management/bean counter decision more than anything though. I don't assume that I am mightier than all to tell them that they shouldn't post about likes or dislikes re: fsx because like i said; its a free country.
