Q400 to come as dlc for mfs 2020

Featured Replies

I thought the plane costs 61 Euros but I see that there is a Pilot version for 40 Euros which is more reasonable.

Anything over $50 for a flightsim plane is overpriced IMO.

I should think the one thing nobody would seriously be able to accuse the Majestic Dash 8 of being, is overpriced; frankly it's  the most keenly priced quality add-on aeroplane there is for a flight sim. They could cheerfully double the price of it and it would still be pretty good value considering the level of fidelity it offers.

Yeah, the Majestic Dash 8 is worth every dollar. Just flew her out of LFKC. Would be near the top of my list of addon wishlist for MSFS (just below the Maddog).

Btw, the linked facebook page is just some guy who is in the alpha and posts leaks, if I'm not mistaken - nothing to do with MS despite his username. So I would not take anything that he says to be worth much!

Majestic Software is NOT involved with this image or topic posted.  If we plan to get involved with MSFS's new platform we will advise the flight simulation community of our plans.

We are not a part of any alphas or betas of the upcoming platform so we'll see where/how MJC products evolve upon release in a few weeks.

More than likely with this platform being in its infancy stages there is going to be a long road a head depending on what we need to do based on the SDK available.

Cheers.

MJC making a F-35.  Not likely! If it's not a turboprop, why bother 👍😁

That was my thought too...assuming Majestic will make the leap to MSFS there’s really no need for another one.

Except for if you like the Dash andwould like to fly it in the new sim, while Majestic is - if at all - years away from releasing on MSFS.

Happy with MSFS 🙂

But I am sure that one expects for  $40.00 that a complex addon (granted not a jet) would operate as close as possible to the real thing based on its systems.

From the knowledge I have at this moment I am fully confident that the aircraft in the click bait above does not indicate the Majestic Dash Q400 is under development for MSFS and Majestic has every intention of developing the Dash 8 Q400 for MSFS.

Edit: Never mind, the follow-up context gives it away. I should've finished reading before replying in excitement. 😄

Hey! I'm having problems putting that last sentence in the right order. It does not indicate the Q400 is under development - got that - but does the second part relate to that negation or does it mean they actually have every intention of developing?

We will determine the best move forward once the platform is released and of course how capable the SDK is upon release.

A release from MJC will not be an expeditious event.

Time will tell and we'll make announcements when we have made our decisions regarding the new platform.

Thanks! I understand your standards are too high for doing pioneers work with the SDK. But I couldn't imagine much more immersive things than flying a turboprop through those clouds and scenery! 😄

Judging what I sometimes get for 40$, your product is heavily UNDERpriced... 😄 Given the quality, amount of work that goes into such a detailed project, the resources of a small dev team and the market, your prices are more than reasonable.

We aim to please all masses as some simmers are not always keen on the complexities of component or service based failures.

Our pilot edition is the closest that one will get to simplicity and yes we could charge more for it, but our higher tiers (pro, training and cockpit editions) are designed for the enthusiast /hard core simmer/professional and are priced accordingly.  Which by today's standards are well below what other products are list for.

I hope it's not the Majestic Dash 8-400.

It would be fantastic to have another good quality -400 for MSFS that costs less than the overpriced Majestic offering.

Dave

This is one of the silliest things I have read here. But then I am looking at the location and am not really surprised.

What a nonsense, the Majestic is a bargain for the offering...

This could very well be photoshopped. On the other hand it would make sense to offer something in the marketplace from start. Although there sure will be stuff like liveries, a plane would raise its value.

@crosswind I've always felt Majestic's pricing was very fair and I've done what I can to support the company. The Q400 remains my favourite P3D aircraft addon 😀 and my second favourite of all time for any platform

I hope Majestic will be able to get the Q400 in MFS20 relatively easily and quickly (got a bad feeling that is wishful thinking though) and I know the way you guys price it will hoover up the new MFS users! Is it more likely you'd stick with JSBSim or try and utilise the new MFS aerodynamics?

I'm not convinced the image of an MS/Asobo Q400 in MFS is genuine, something about the windscreen and cockpit area looks off. And given their existing partnership with Airbus I would think the ATR 600 series a more likely candidate.
