I've given up on an invite, congrats to anyone who manages to get in at this point.

Seems like some of the ppl that do get invited in are trolls, or people who aren't even simmers. From what I can tell in several of the leaked videos going around on YouTube.

Probably a bit misleading statistically; the people likely to bang out NDA-busting vids are likely those who don't really care too much about stuff. This doesn't mean all the beta testers are like this, but you'll likely never see an NDA-busting video from the more serious types simply because they are taking it more seriously.

I still maintain that they should just open the beta up to pre-order people.

The only thing that explains tweets like these at this point is that there's someone at MS who gets a hard on for making as many people  check their email for nothing as possible.

Now that's funny. And I'd love it if it was true. 🤣

Actually, at this point if I get a beta invitation, I'm tempted to email them back and tell them I can't be bothered testing it for them because I've already paid for it so I'm going to assume someone else has already tested it. 🤣

At one stage they said everyone who had signed up for the alpha would eventually get access. If so, it looks like it might be technically true, but it will be right up to the wire and so not really in the spirit of what they seemed to be telling us.

I'm sure I'll be able to find it funny in a couple of years too when I've been able to distance my snow flake feelings from the experience

Do you happen to remember the source, and can you link it?

From the Insider FAQ that existed before the website's renovation for the pre-order announcement.

Does becoming an Insider guarantee I will participate in the Preview Build Program?

Our goal is ensure that everyone participates in the Preview Program. But that doesn’t mean everyone will participate in every build of the Preview Build Program.

Keep in mind that this has existed since the introductory message from the team, just a few days after the E3 2019 trailer dropped. Clearly this goal has failed, though I have the feeling that they were anticipating a much smaller amount of people to sign up for Tech Alpha access back then.
