If topic starter rig struggles to render default x-plane 11 with slider toward the left, he won't get pretty picture in MSFS either . So I'd like to see this video again when MSFS will be released

It's not my video but I do know how badly X-Plane runs even on high end computers. Even with Vulcan.

FSX | DCS | X-Plane 11 | MSFS 2020 | IL2:BoX

Favorite aircraft currently: MSFS Savage Cub

MSFS doesn't make your sim worse

How could it? 😄

(Sorry 'bout that)

Agree, they're as sad and annoying as those other people that see any criticism to MFS as a threat, and don't miss a chance to joyfully proclaim that "all MFS competitors are dead!!1!1". 🙂

When I heard about the release of MSFS my initial thought was "how's XP gonna counter that". Well, I think best way is to not try to counter it but focus on your strengths.

To go in XP forums and bash XP is not just annoying but childish.

What is probably true, is that if you make XP look like MSFS with addons (scenery, xEnviro, etc) and tweaks, it might perform worse than MSFS.

This comparison makes no sense anyway. The technological difference is obvious. Its only purpose is to cause some heat.

Look how awful XP looks -> MSFS has a bad flight model -> ...

Exactly as much as XP users going into other sims' forums and bashing those sims.

It looks like they've adopted a new strategy.  Go into a competitor's forum and demand things.  Loudly.  Continuously.

Look at the TRAINS thread for a good example.  They obviously didn't care about trains or they might have shown some interest when I said I had seen some in MSFS.  If it had been me, I would have been excited.

"We want TRAINS!  We want TRAINS!!!"
"I've seen several trains in MSFS."
"We want TRAINS!  We want TRAINS!!!"

See if you can find other examples here.

It's a bit sad if you spend hours researching material of a sim you are not going to use anyway, only to denounce it. What a sad way of spending time.

Interestingly it's intelligent people that do that stuff...

The scheme is quite simple:
Make a nice comment to not be instantly obvious (the sim has astounding graphics), then push your agenda (it's not serving my needs - bad flight model, lack of quality aircraft, yada, yada).

There's guys like @MatthewS who can be annoying, but they clearly criticize because they want improvement. And then there are those who post destructive criticism. If the sim doesn't fit your needs - play whatever makes you happy, but stop spoiling it for the others?

I think most people welcome constructive criticism.  I think it's a good thing.

I think everything that gets mentioned here is also being discussed, often extensively, in the Beta forum.  It's not like if you don't spam Avsim then the developers won't know.

It's not even funny how much better FS2020 looks compared to xplane.

There's the saying , that if you cant beat them.... join them.   Xplane has been around for a few decades and good support during that time.   It may be time to reconsider XP's future, and instead become a developer of addons for MSFS instead of developing XP base any further.  LR certainly doesnt have the resources and massive budget to compete or else it would be alot closer to MSFS by now.  IMHO, I see many XP developers may even consider developing for both sims or even moving to MSFS altogether.   They will go where there is demand and where the masses are. Now that MSFS is clearly marketing to all kinds of groups of  hardcore simmers, gamers, flying curiosity, casual hobbyists, and with a strong SDK support, its just too enticing to ignore.

There shouldnt be shame in XP.   They accomplished alot just as FSX did with all the addons, and on to P3D.  But those 3 chapters are closing fast. Some will refuse to move over and thats what freedom of choice is all about, but dont expect to see much support and development in the future with those platforms.
