August 7, 20205 yr Funny video, but it's clearly a bit slanted against Xplane. The comparison with decent filming skills and graphics settings wouldn't be quite THAT bad between the two. It would still be bad, just not quite that bad. 😁
August 7, 20205 yr I'd appreciate an honest attempt to compare XP to MSFS rather then this entertaining, but silly spoof. Starting tomorrow I will start uninstalling all my FSX addons and ultimately FSX&P3D and free thatSSD for MSFS2020. I haven't even played it yet and know I cant go back. If you're still using FSX, you never went forward. P3D v5 is actually pretty to close to MSFS in SPECIFIC areas graphics-wise, particularly high-altitude flight with EA/TrueSky on using ortho (which is what I use it for 80% of the time). So I'm 100% certain I'll be going back whenever I want to do something that MSFS is unable to do, like fly a hi-fidelity airliner. My advice, use MSFS for the things it does well (which is a lot of things!) 🙂 Oz Sim Rig: MSI RTX3090 Suprim, an old, partly-melted Intel 9900K @ 5GHz+, Honeycomb Alpha, Thrustmaster TPR Rudder, Warthog HOTAS, Reverb G2, Prosim 737 cockpit. August 7, 20205 yr Shouldn't the title be "MSFS Trailer recreated in X-Plane 9"? Seriously, X-Plane looks hideous in many of these shots. If you know what you're doing in X-Plane 11 - and have the right addons - you should be able to get it looking a LOT better than this. X-Plane in this video is just embarassing (and, yes, it was always going to look shoddy in a direct contest against MSFS, but I wasn't expecting this!) August 7, 20205 yr Im a huge XP11 fan but even Im gonna jump in and say that this has to be a troll vid. We all know we cannot compare the 2 sims but putting that aside this vid looks dreadful, did he use the lowest settings? I find the sim very easy to use, the Zibo for example is fantastic and so are many freeware planes. I love the file management - everything in one folder, never touches the registry. Great flight model, passionate dev, oh yes... and the file management is a dream come true! But it was never meant to be the blockbuster mainstream sim. Till a few years ago it didn't even have 3D airports nor an quality airliner. That changed after Microsoft abandoned FS. There has been a massive influx of P3D users. I think this is going to change again now. Those guys will sowly but steadily move back to MSFS (once addons are available). XP is often associated with passion, but MS also has done a lot for simming. To me it's like coming home. They have the capabilities to deliver on all aspects and that's what I am looking for! Even if some things might not be 100% technically correct. Plus, I have a good feeling with ASOBO in that regard. Happy with MSFS 🙂 home simming evolved

August 7, 20205 yr Where has mSparks43 been? I noticed he is referring to MSFS as "flight 2" and the PMDG 737 will make or break it. 6 months ago fine but even after the past couple weeks he is still in denial.. August 7, 20205 yr It's been a good 6 months since I visited their forum. There are some very good guys over there looking into the flood of MSFS preview build videos rationally. With a select few poo pooing everything or taking a defensive stance. I might be a bit of an FS extremist but if Asobo and Xplane teamed up and gave us this same sim. I would be just as excited and getting it day 1. Edited August 7, 20205 yr by reignman40 ASUS Prime Z490-A / i7-10700K / RTX 4080 / G.SKILL Ripjaws 32GB / Lian-Li PC-O11 Dynamic case
