August 15, 20205 yr Will the forum title change to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2021 on 1 January 2021? Seems appropriate! Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...
August 15, 20205 yr LOL, are you sure you want to suggest that? You might be starting a new way people might start referring to MSFS in another 5+ months. On 1/1/2021, it would be funny (or any other adjective you want to use depending on where you stand on the naming of MSFS) if that happens. A rose by any other name will have thorns that will word not allowed some people a little (and other a lot) 🙂 Just a few more days...I can't wait until we all can speak to all issues (good and bad) about MSFS. 10850K, MSI Unify Z490, 32gb G.Skill Ripjaw 3600 CL16, MSI 5700 XT 8gb, Nochua NH-U12a, WD 500gb Black SSD (OS- Windows 10 Pro), Samsung 2tb Evo plus SSD (games), Superflower 850 watts power supply
August 15, 20205 yr Author Indeed, I think it's quite appropriate. In 5 months time, who would want an old sim? Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...
August 15, 20205 yr Nah, Since it was born in 2020. I will still call it "Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020" 😀 Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.

Or shortly MSFS, maybe MFS. But not FS10, not FSXI, not FS20, not FS2020 or others absurdly names, what some people still creates and nobody knows why, if this SW has a clear official name 🙂 .
August 15, 20205 yr Starting to wonder if Wobbie is my ex wife, she had a way of banging on about absolutely pointless irrational causes.

I agree completely that the OFFICIAL title from Microsoft is MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR. In our AVSIM world where many users are still accessing the MS flight simulators from 2006 and 2004 (also known as FS9 and FSX), it is VERY rational to label the NEW simulator something different than Microsoft Flight Simulator to clearly distinguish the difference. Maybe that's why AVSIM has named 3 different forums here to help users know how to get help and participate in the proper community. Edited August 15, 20205 yr by vcarlo Quote
August 15, 20205 yr FS2004: A Century of Flight was the official name of a product released back in 2003. It's been almost universally referred to as "FS9" in the 17 years since then. It's called Herd mentality! Herd mentality, mob mentality and pack mentality, also lesser known as gang mentality, describes how people can be influenced by their peers to adopt certain behaviors on a largely emotional, rather than rational, basis. Wikipedia Scientists at the University of Leeds believe they may have found why humans flock like sheep and birds, subconsciously following a minority of individuals. Researchers discovered that it takes a minority of just five percent to influence a crowd’s direction — and that the other 95 percent follow without realizing it. Robin "Onward & Upward" ...
