Stuck on 'Press Any Key to Start'

Featured Replies

When I launch it it gets stuck on 'Press Any Key to Start'

You press any key and you get circle of death for a moment and that stops and it says 'Press Any Key to Start'

This is a perpetual cycle, anyone know why? Should I wait?

I just found my keyboard not working there. Mouse click let me progress...

I had that.

Try rebooting PC & perhaps close your anti virus.

Came right, then entered an Update phase that took a couple of hours.

Now d/L 91.36 GB approx base sim & that will take about 8 hrs.

Also, make sure you start the launcher as administrator. I got stuck on the loading screen when I launched it normally.

Do you have an "any" key on your keyboard?

I tried downloading the digital ownership again and running as admin, and yes mouse clicks and keyboard clicks. Didn't sort it out, I am uninstalling and reinstalling

I sorted it out now, so if anyone else has this problem here is what I did. Run Windows Update a few times and update everything, I was also missing XBOX Gaming Services and a few other XBOX things because somewhere along the way I removed those apps as I wasn't using them. Everything is updated now.

When MSFS was looking for those XBOX Services it went into the 'Press Any Key to Start' circle

95.12 GB here to install in total

Does it state somewhere how much it has downloaded or the internet speed. I only have a blue bar which is not moving AT ALL since 30 minutes (500Mbit)...?

And the folder I selected does not show any files/updates, either.

Hi! When the "installing packages" opens up, points to my "C" drive, app data folder and begins installing there, although I have the original pre-download on my dedicated "F" drive. Do I need to point the installer to my "F" drive at that point before the start of the download? Regards

The software doesn't show the download speed but you can find that in the Task Manager under the Flight Simulator App, mine is currently averaging 17 Mbps

Yes you do and it will confirm it before you continue

Closing the launcher and restarting worked for me, picked back up where it left off. I changed my system time to be the same as (cough) where I am currently located before restarting but not sure if that was material. This on gamepass btw.

The issue was apparently that I pointed the initial install to my second SSD drive. It did not start downloading and I could not change the drive afterwards. So I had to go into my apps, delete all the connections to my account, deinstall the app, reinstall, let it install on C drive and now it is downloading. Approx. 2 GB downloaded while I was writing this...
