GPU being underutilized

Featured Replies

Anyone else seem to be having this problem?  As I'm flying and monitoring my performance settings, I notice that the GPU is usually not running at 100% or even close to that.  Typically, it seems to be running between 35-60%.  I'm averaging 30 FPS with frequent dips into the 20's.

My system: Ryzen 7 2700x, 16 GB RAM at 3000Mhz, GTX 1660, and the sim and OS are on two different SSDs.  I'm only flying at 1080p.

30-40% roughly

I did not measure, but the noise of my 2800Ti tells that it is close to 100%.

If your GPU is not to 100% your CPU is bottlenecking ...

My RTX2080Ti is 100% and i9-9900K is 20%

Not true. I have a 2080 and 9900k and I'm getting 50%.

yep.  i have a 2700x and there is no cpu bottleneck.

I'd also add that during the alpha and beta I was hitting 99% so there's something going on with the retail. It might just be a setting causing the issue.

Did all of you upgrade your nvidia drivers?

I was about to post this, I think it could be the drivers because I updated them last night. I'm going to revert back to the previous drivers and see if it fixes the GPU issue.

Yep, sometimes the simplest solution is the best. Especially with computers. The weirdest things can cause strange things to happen.

1080p, 1440p or 4K? your're getting 50%? I'm getting 99% on 4K.
