Auto-Control the difference between a Simulator and a Game

Featured Replies

A simulator is a software or hardware that imitates as much as possible the real thing

A game is something that has one button to solve the puzzle or game

By MS adding the Auto-Control, plus auto-land and auto-takeoff for the sake of toddlers in Xbox...is for simmers, disapointing

Its not simple as "dont use the feature" if the auto-everything is there it takes out a lot deal of the immersion

I hope in future they will release a "Pro" version of the sim that could have no tips, no auto-flying with just one button and "easy flying" modes

Some of you (if I dont say this) will counter:
"But real planes have auto-land, etc"

How naive. Yes. But you know why when a pilot has the runway in sight or vfr he prefers to land it manually?
Because "auto-land" is not what it seems to the general public
Actually auto-land is VERY complicated, requiring a lot of previous work, settings and programming.
Same thing as FMC auto take off and route

So people have the wrong idea that auto-land is just pressing a button.
No, actually its easier to manually land the plane, provided you have the skills

By having a One button auto-complete mission, will back-fire in the intent to please young xbox kids into controlling a 747

IMHO

So you want the sim designed for you and the hardcore bunch and all the newbies be damned? If you don't get new blood you wont have ANY developer wanting to waste time making a simulator because it wouldn't be worth it financially. Be glad they have those features to attract fledgling pilots so they can afford to flesh out the features your interested in. Doing what you propose is just shooting yourself in the foot.

I wonder if Racing 3 has a button where the car will win the race by itself while you just sit and watch

Or

in Fifa 2019 you say "My team must win the match by 5-0" press the button!

Well, in such a racing game, do you think it's exactly like real racing?  Where a driver knows to pull in and get the tires done just by the smell coming off them.

Im speechless. It is unreal that someone can complain this too.

"as real as its possible" has always been the wish of flight simmers.

When smelling can be emullated you can be sure querosene smell or tyres in. racing will be there. They are not because as of today its not possible

I can press one button and none of your posts will show up again. It sounds easy but is actually very complicated.

its not a complain.

I posted here and in flightsim with the title in the thread "Shut it, MSFS 2020 is fantastic" and all the complaints are not sim bugs but actually people not knowing how to use yet.

This is a wish that "one of the three different versions" should be or could be in future without a "walkthrough" or "press button"

ugh. Flying a plane isn't "winning". We're not talking about competing here. I'm not familiar with the game that you mention, but any mode which would help users, for example, learn where to enter a turn and which speed to do it at, would only be beneficial.

yes, easy modes are present in all versions. But now they included the button to "do it all while you watch"

winning or simming are just different objectives and purposes. And in those games i mentioned dont have such a "magic" button

Actually, you can let fly the guy sitting next to you in a plane, it's voice activated by saying "you have controls".

Prefer? I would recommend those pilots to read their company's SOP, then he would prefer to follow it.
