Do airliners ever land?

Featured Replies

I have been using the ai plane to fly by itself from airport to airport which for the most part works. The problem is that the propeller and learjets can land with no problem and taxi to the gate but airliners never do. They take off correctly but when they reach the destination they just circle until they crash. The landing gear comes down and everything looks correct but then it turns and crashes into the ground. I also open up the ATC window and the tower has given permission to land but it never does. Not sure if it's a flight model problem or I have something set wrong in the settings. Has anyone had this problem? Thank you.

I doubt they would be able to land when they can barely fly straight and level. The copilot ai is competing with ATC for the tittle of dumbest ai ever. As soon as copilot takes over he just slams the throttle balls to the wall and if you let him fly all the way and go for a coffee, you will return to see a black screen of death/game over! The absence of a crash analysis left me in the dark as to what dumb mistake he did. Who gave this AI and the killer ATC a license?

I had the ai fly the 320 from Schipol to Heathrow using a flight plan uploaded from Simbrief directly into MSFS. It performed both take off and landing perfectly.

Depends on how drunk your AI airliner pilot is. I spent a few days trying it out not long after release and I had some flights that were pretty flawless and some where it would either crash on approach or overfly then crash. On some occasions the AI pilot also decided mid-flight that he didn't want to go where instructed and decided just to change direction and fly off somewhere else instead.

Ive some some AI traffic approach and land but then disappear the second they land. No rollout, no taxi, they just vanish.

As a noob, I have the landing approach aids turned on - the brackets in the air that guide you to landing and indicate whether you're too fast or too slow.  Noticed that the aids don't line up with reality at some airports.  They'd be showing approaches through obstacles like mountains, or in some cases the path goes underground well short of the runway.  Maybe this has to do with AI not being able to land properly - it follows 'the bracket' path which is clearly misaligned.

I have tried three flights in the TBM930 with the "FO" flying all the way.

Three went okay, but too rough to carry PAX at certain times.

The last one killed me by stalling on approach.  He is grounded for now.

They will solve this.  Eventually.  Probably soonish, because the it's the same AI used for AI aircraft.

What is simbrief?

I saw an AI plane land once.. It was pointed straight up at the sky, but it greased that tail first landing at a perfect 90 degrees, and leveled off in a 1/2 second once on the ground like a seasoned veteran then vanished into what I presume was a bad Stephen King movie

Try it with an area of turbulence / mountains. Did last night and got slammed into the #'s. Really needs fixing.
