Honeycomb Yoke

I was keen on it when I first saw a pre-production model a couple of years ago. Since then Fulcrum have shown a 3D printed model at Cosford 2018 and a fully working one in 2019.

That is the one I’m going to buy and have pre-ordered it. Due to arrive in a few weeks.

With all respect to Honeycomb I wouldn’t describe the Alpha One as high end. Better than the Saitek for sure but nowhere near as good as the Fulcrum.

https://www.fulcrumsim.com/product/fulcrum-one-yoke/

Yes, it’s more expensive but nowhere near the price of the Yoko. Being priced in GBP helps US and Euro customers given the state of the Pound Sterling.

I am in agreement with you. I own the honeycomb yoke; and it certainly is better than the Saitek yokes, which I also own.

I do Ga flying exclusively, and the only negative I have re the Honeycomb is the spring action on the elevator axes is too strong in my opinion, also the spring strength is not progressive. I also wish the elevator travel was longer.

Because of these negatives and the pricing of the Fulcrum I intend to get one. Any Idea when it may be released?  I perused the website but didn't get a clear idea when it may become available.

RT, The Fulcrum will suit you perfectly. It has progressive resistance on both axes. Springs rather than bungee ropes I believe. The elevator travel of the Honeycomb is hardly any longer than the Saitek.

Pre-ordering is available now. Not sure how long you would need to wait. Chris can answer that on the support forum here on AvSim. First orders are due to be shipped in the next week or so.

It won’t be anything remotely professional but happy to give an honest opinion on a yoke I’ve been waiting for for over two years. 👍

Is there good documentation on getting the alpha to work with FSUIPC. I've just found a partial INI file and a LUA script but I have yet to get it working.

MSFS, NaviGraph Charts & FMS, Pilot2ATC, FsHub
R5 3600X ,RTX 2060S, 32GB, SSD

LUA is only needed for buttons above 31 - Magneto L, BOTH, START.

So you can start assigning all below 32 in FSUIPC interface, for LUA check FSUIPC forums.

Ray is it safe to assume they don't charge my CC until it's shipped?  It looks like what I've been looking for and it's not very expensive for what it is.

The C152 is a basic training aircraft with a single engine mounted on the longitudinal axis. It has a bendy tab mounted on the rudder that you can tweak by hand but it doesn't have a rudder trim that is adjustable in flight. Mostly rudder trim is found on twins, to compensate for extreme asynchronous operation in the event of an engine failure.

Thank you so much Mark. I finally got the correct answer 🙂

Now it makes sense. I tried it on a twin aircraft and the yoke rudder switches do work 👍

Much appreciated.

I think Fulcrum have said as much in a post on their sub-forum. Mine hasn't been charged yet. I believe they will charge when they're ready to ship your order.

Don't worry about that. Just go through the process as shown on the Fulcrum sub-forum.

I think it comes up as "sold out" because they are only just starting to ship this week so technically they are "out of stock" even though they never where "in stock".

Just preorder anyway. My understanding is they will email you when yours is ready to confirm your preorder (or cancel) and then when you confirm they then debit your CC and ship it.

Thanks, their site's pre-order piece was broken, I contacted them, they fixed it, and I'm now in w/ a pre-order and they arrange for payment when ready to ship.

Cheers

What is a good option for a TQ that also has HE sensors?  I guess the Honeycomb B doesn't have HE sensors.

I apologize if it seems like I am highjacking this thread, but as an outsider, I had a few questions as there seem to be some Honeycomb owners on here.

1. I am concerned about what appears to be a very small diameter yoke shaft.  Is it hollow or solid?  How much physical play is there translating the yoke up/down, left/right with minor force (i.e. flexing this shaft)?

2. Red 'accent' lighting, can this be turn off?

3. Springs or bunji cord resistance? adjustable?

4. Any detents?

thanks.
