Honeycomb Yoke

What is the 10 degree setting bug that some users are reporting?

If you use any of the always-on switches (lights, etc) on the yoke it causes the heading and course bugs to move only in 10 degree increments. Known bug 😞

I too have  the Honeycomb yoke and what I do to get around that problem is use the Remote flight A/P app on my ipad.  It lets me adjust the heading in increments of 1 degree.

Hope that helps.

Hi Haskell

I assume you mean adjusting the AP or course heading ?

I am flying the C152x and in Clear Sky setting, with no wind input, the wings will not stay level. Course drift is increments of 1 degree, usually to port. Is this normal ?

The two workarounds are

- Use FSUIPC to bind toggle switches

- Unbind all of the toggle switches (including magneto/start switch)

The momentary switches (all buttons/switches on the yoke) are not affected and can be used directly

I just got my honeycomb yoke today and it is an amazing improvement in smoothness, linearity and consistent centering vs the CH Products Flight Sim Yoke I've been using for years so it's worth it even with the dashboard switches disabled.

OK so if I unbind (meaning blank out) all of the toggle switches, then does this prevent the Course drift is increments of 1 degree, usually to port ?

Another work around is to single click the knobs as that will adjust by single digits. So use the mouse wheel to get in the ballpark then single click to get it exact.

Don't feel the two are at all related.  Perhaps start a separate topic if you have not already done so and in that topic provide more complete information.  Your topic title will draw others in better than if they just happen on your post here.
Which aircraft?  Where are you flying? Exactly how are you flying?  By hand or by AP? etc.

Is Honeycomb doing anything about this?  They've had nearly 2 months.

No. Mine arrived DOA. They are inundated and can't keep up. Check their FB page.

I don't think it is up to Honeycomb to fix.

FS2020 needs to be changed so that constant on switches don't create a problem. They probably will, but it may take a while.

In X-plane the switches don't cause a problem as far as I have experienced.

The Honeycomb yoke is a fantastic bargain so much better then CH and Saitek/Logitech.

If you don't have patience then simming can be frustrating. You have to use work arounds a lot in all sims.

Under 'Options', "Assistance' , 'Aircraft Systems' see if 'Gyro Drift Autocalibration' is on or off.  You are seeing gyro drift and I believe you need to turn this setting to 'on'.  I have it set to off but I have only been flying aircraft with slaved heading systems so I don't see this drift.

Nor in FSX, nor in P3D, nor in Aerofly FS2, nor in Flyinside Flight Sim. So I agree, I think it's FS2020 that needs to fix this.

Indeed it's not a Honeycomb problem. I am more than satisfied with mine and as bloodystump mentioned .. just single click the knobs.

OK Thanks to all for the help and replies. I did another flight last night and the drift was negligible. Maybe a slight wind effect at 4000ft. I am flying the C152X by hand, not AP.

Agree with all that this is an awesome yoke. For some reason the yaw switches on the right arm of the yoke do not work (left elevator up down does work) but not too worried.

Using  Numlock zero and Numlock enter on the keyboard for now. Have the Honeycomb throttle control on pre-order and maybe Honeycomb with produce rudders next year.
