October 9, 20205 yr In most flights that I make with P3D V5, I can always count on THIS happening. THIS is the complete elimination of plane textures during a flight. I like to frequently move from VC to SPOT view and on to as many views as I choose. When I move to SPOT view, often there are totally missing plane textures. Instead, the plane is shiny silver and devoid of paint. If I leave it there, it will often come back to life and all is OK. However, sometimes this paint removal is a portent of things to come. What comes sometimes is an avalanche of performance deterioration. The stutters start and it becomes impossible to switch views. Everything is in slow motion, and either I recover by getting into OPTIONS and changing something, or the sim is so unstable that I have to do a Control/Alt/Delete to get to Task Manager and end the session. This never happens in V4.5 and only in V5. Sometimes there are totally successful flights that come to the desired end. But the vast majority of the flights produce these performance anomalies that puzzle me. Believe me, I have tried every combination of settings in the sim, and every brand new video driver ( I just downloaded a new one yesterday). Do you experience this in V5? If so, how do you combat it? Stan
October 9, 20205 yr I think everybody has the slow loading textures to a degree. Sometimes I just go to another view and back, and that usually resolves it. October 9, 20205 yr Have you looked at your VRAM usage while this is going on? It sounds like you're getting close to the edge. I see some delay in loading external textures if I've been out of the exterior view a while...but never see it stay that way for more than maybe a second or two. I've got an 11GB GPU and do not use EA at present. October 9, 20205 yr It happens when I switch from cockpit to spot view and then back again. It seems to be unique to me and perhaps its in my system somehow. I'm using an NVidia 1080ti 11gb. card. I keep playing with the settings. I just used DDU to clean my last driver install, and I'll see if that helps more than using Nvidia's removal tool.

Happened today, I have a 1080Ti 11 gb VRAM, so no issues so far. I have also mapped <SHIFT “T”> to “Refresh Textures”. I use it on my initial Outside View and subsequently the textures seem to load quicker after that. Just my observation. October 11, 20205 yr Loads textures faster. Six is a good place to start (default is 3) as this can cause stutters.
