So i finally had my first CTD

Featured Replies

I guess it had to happen. It was super wired. I was circling Paris at about 2000ft to see the scenery in the TBM and then headed to LFPX for landing. As soon i turned to the direction, the camera system went crazy. What appers to be the "smart cam" (which was disabled since day 1) has started to work erratically pointing to all sorts of places. The right mouse button which is my free cam while pressed started to the zooming when pressed. I could barely made it the field fighting the camera just to touch down and CTD with no error message.

The one thing i noticed compare to other scenarios it didn't crashed is that in this case the GPU usage was quite high.

Checking the even viewer and that's the cause:  Faulting module path: C:\Windows\System32\ucrtbase.dll

I was quite sad after this 😞

Took this long. I get one every time I try to change an approach in the G1000.

Had my first one today too. Camera issue in the a320 mod v3.1. Erratic zooming in and out turning the camera at all sorts of angles. Tried disconnecting and reconnecting my mouse and got the CTD.

Turn off multiplayer, which is causing the issue with the cam, until we get the patch next week. I think this was fixed. Hopefully.

An integrated autosave would greatly lessen the frustration of random CTDs. But I guess that's just too much to ask for in 2020.

Make a flight plan and then remove or add some points, Bom! CTD....

But those are the only ones I have experienced.

Interesting, I have had this twice in a row flying the modded A320. It is as if Smartcam has activated but you cannot re-centre the view and it was quickly followed by a CTD. I thought it might be the mod but if the TBM is getting it, may be more widespread.

There was supposedly a problem with the VFR map causing CTD's.

So of course, while flying, I started opening and closing that map relentlessly over the course of several days, because I wanted to see the issue.

Eventually I did get a CTD once, but I had the impression from the reports (at first) that a CTD was almost a surety.

Just goes to show that there are a lot of unknowns and intangibles as to the cause of these things, and I don't envy Asobo going through however many zillions of lines of code to track them down.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

Quote  "It is as if Smartcam has activated but you cannot re-centre the view"  I believe this is the MSFS TELL    The program does this as a crash is about to happen and couple times now I have been able to quit application before CTD.  Growing Pains

It seems random. I tried that also and no CTD. Then yesterday I hit V to bring up the VFR map for navigational purposes, and suddenly CTD. Yet I could repeatedly mash the V button and not get a CTD

If you google ucrtbase.dll it appears to be a C++ error

The genuine ucrtbase.dll file is a software component of Microsoft Visual C++ by Microsoft.
Microsoft Visual C++ is an IDE developed by Microsoft. Ucrtbase.dll is a dynamic link library file that is associated with Microsoft Visual C++, and is a legitimate Windows file that does not cause any threat to your PC.

I had two.  The obvious vfr map thing..the other, I had not turned on my custom fan curve for the gpu and it exceeded temp I believe.  I’m only at 40 hours flying time so far, but all looks good otherwise.
