October 5, 20205 yr BBS have patched their Bird Dog to address a lot of the complaints about it. Personally, I still think it is a bit over the odd price-wise, but if anyone was teetering on the brink of buying and put off by some of the glitches, here are the fixes in the update: Fuel selector knob - Animation corrected L-O-R Engine Starter - True Cold and Dark operation Amphibian - A Fitted Gear switch and Indicator lamps Switches - Flipped to operate in standard configuration (UP = ON) Prop Torque - Reduced Lighting Issues - L/R Fuel tank indicators and Radio Digits Panel floods - Correct Red and or White floodlights Mirror - Now reflects stuff Flap Drag - Improved, creating more drag Panel Color - Changed to blue, green and black Added Liveries - Canadian yellow amphibian, Marines and Army paint jobs Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
October 5, 20205 yr Now if they adjust to price to someplace near reasonable - say $15 then it would be a popular add on. I would buy it. Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
October 5, 20205 yr They improved the cockpit and added more liveries. Its quite a nice plane now the cockpit looks much nicer.
October 5, 20205 yr Based on the image above (I do not personally own this aircraft) I would say the "improved cockpit" is almost up to FSX standards...

The cockpit actually looks nice ingame now as they have zoomed out from the cockpit and they improved the textures. I like it as much as the 2 taildraggers in MSFS now.
October 5, 20205 yr I'm glad they got the ball rolling... now back to Airbus V1.0 Mark Robinson Part-time Ferroequinologist Author of FLIGHT: A near-future short story (ebook available on amazon) I made the baby cry - A2A Simulations L-049 Constellation Sky Simulations MD-11 V2.2 Pilot. If they dropped the price, they'd probably make more money. Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

October 6, 20205 yr Props to BBS for patching their $29US plane. But I'm always left wondering if somehow everyone was unable to comment one way or another on the "quality" of this......airplane, would the developer be inclined to think he did a bang up job on the initial release and it needed no improvements? My biggest questions will continue to be, why was it released in its initial form, and at $29US? There is nobody (except the egotistical BBS owner and a few of his cronies) that could have agreed that the initial offering was ready for release, even at $1.99, and even if this will ever be a $29 airplane....there is just not enough plane there to make it worth that much IMO, at any price over $15 let's say. Like others have mentioned and I've said all along, if the owner of BBS was smart he would have released it for $9.99....he would have made more money, caught a lot less flak, and been in line with rational pricing models. Its pretty easy to calculate that you'll make more money at $9.99@1000 sales vs $29.@100 So only 2 things could have driven his motivation to release it at that price and in that shape.....Ego or Greed (trying for a cash grab before everyone gets wise to his history as a dev). Maybe both, but either way, I tend to spend my money on devs who exhibit neither of these qualities. You can be proud of your work sure......but if he was somehow proud of his initial release, then that clarifies in my mind what he thinks "quality" means. And we ain't on the same wavelength in that regard....nor will we ever be. Actually....they have been trying to get v .90 out the door for several years now.....if you extrapolate the production schedule based on current progress, v 1.0 should be available around 2029 (if they ever get past .90). I'm quite sure you'll see an Airbus from them in MSFS before you see them complete their "Prologue"🤣 I'm guessing that right now they are working to figure out how to beat the other Airbus 330 dev into MSFS so they can be the 1st, and try to hook unsuspecting simmers, new to the community since MSFS, into their "Prologue" scam, and have them waiting for v .90 for year after year? Just go look at their forums if you want to see how involved they are in supporting their customers or participating in discussions about progress....All they keep saying is that they are a 2 man development team....with one guy working on all the hard stuff, while the other guy twiddles his thumbs and tries to push FSX port-overs into MSFS at $29US with upside-down switches and the only way to start the plane is with a CTRL+E. 🙄 Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here
October 6, 20205 yr BBS might still save the day. They could have a 90-day special on the Bird dog for 50% off. That should give them sufficient time to compare sales of before and after the sale price. At the end of 90 days they could choose which way to go forward. I would like to have it in my hangar, I want the floats to play with, but, not bad enough to pay double the price. Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

Ray Hey Ray, The only way I'd see that "flying" is if he offered a refund of the difference to the early adaptors who took a chance at full price and lined his pockets...otherwise if I were one of them I'd consider that a solid slap in the face. I'm hoping Carenado is seeing the need for a Float plane and shoots out the Skyhawk on floats...still showing on their site @ $9.95 for the FSX/P3D version....imaging that! 😉 Or maybe if they port it to MSFS they'll do some market research on float planes in MSFS and rationalize that since simmers MUST be willing to pay $29US for a simple float plane, they should price accordingly. 🤣 EDIT: Wait....BBS's offering is actually an amphibian that can land with its wheels down in water and not do this:https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=floatplane+flips+when+lading+with+gear+down&docid=608015542319580376&mid=F87B7865F4483FAE1A77F87B7865F4483FAE1A77&view=detail&FORM=VIRE Sign me up for an amphibian that defies the laws of physics! And...as another reviewer noted in her review....she landed on land with the gear up (because her version had no indicator for the gear position)....and there was no grinding, sparks, nothing to indicate she just ground all the aluminium off the bottom of her floats! Yep...a $29US add-on if I've ever seen one!
