Can't believe that no one even mentions that half the nav data is missing, ...

The Navigraph beta for MSFS fixes much of what the stock navigation database has bungled.

Full Navigraph compatibility or equally complete nav data with online charts and a web based moving map (all approaches, departures, transitions, and available Jeppesen charts). In other words, the charts must match what we see in the MCDU, and what we see in the MCDU must match the flightplan.

The above is what I need to feel like I can operate the sim in a manner that brings me joy. Until these things are added, it can't be my sim of choice, but when these milestones are reached, I will be comfortable with deleting P3D. Anything else (scenery, weather, other aircraft...) is icing on the cake.

I fully agree, and why for the love of puppies would MS/AS not partner with Navigraph making it consistent across all the sim world.

You are being polite in your assessment, much more than I would and I better stop there.

Forgot two things :

- multi monitor view support

- NVsurround fisheye correction

Replay mode. I wanna get under the belly on some of these arrivals in japan. Kushiro especially.

  • Correct aircraft lights
  • Proper apron lighting
  • Blinding Landing Lights
  • VNAV
  • Metric / feet, Imperial, Metric/Meters options
  • Correct ATC procedures
  • Better ATC options (eg. information requests)
  • Voice to Text for ATC
  • Correct weather
  • Switch airplanes without exiting
  • Switch plan without exiting
  • Pop out FMS/GPS

- Replay mode & increased camera functions (prior to msfs releasing I had been almost exclusively using DCS & didn't realize how spoiled I was with replay/camera functions)

- AI traffic w/ real models/liveries & interactive/customizable schedules/parking/flight plans (thanks again DCS for spoiling me on that front as well!)

- Cockpit zoom view axis for use with the slider on hotas throttle quadrant in conjunction with my track IR (again, blame DCS!)

- Contrails and particle effects (word not allowed you DCS!!)

*Since the thread title is "what we are missing" as opposed to "what we wish for", I won't mention many of the aforementioned things like improved ATC, navdata, flight models, and so on.

...But since we are throwing it all out there!.....

- More detailed VFR map that includes location names & nav info, terrains, etc.

- Better more consistent FPS performance around airport environments (ie: landing & taking off) in the larger aircraft with glass cockpits (ie: Neo, 787, 747) and in the future (pmdg)

Cheers!

ps- this sim is still currently awesome no matter what!!!

i'm missing the pmdg 747 and also my retro ai traffic

Accurate weather

More realistic traffic

Real life taxiway naming

Modeling of all airports

Better ATC

There are many things but most of these are nice to have. An example for this would be accurate Taxiways.

What I really want is a proper ATC that handles ai+me+other players as  well as the ability to hear  the conversations of other players with atc as well as calls on airfields without atc coverage. And because that is always said: VATSIM and IVOA or Pilotedge are not an alternative for this, not enough coverage, too stressful and can't handle ai at all. Also often not available when I want to fly.

The other really important thing is proper failures. The ones ingame work somewhat but lack in the amount of system that can fail (basically only the engine and thats it) as well as how those failures happen.

The minimum functionality I would expect is the same as X-Plane 11 but this should be MUCH more ambitious. There needs to be real reason for preflight checks and monitoring instruments as well as proper flight planning. Random failures work kind of, but that should be combined with a management mode as Onair. Failures should happen randomly with a low chance that increases when you miss handle the airplane. Stuff like overstressing the engine, overspeed, overg, and so on should not cause immediate failures but accumulate over multiple flights. The management part is important because if you can just do maintenance after every flight it loses its effect. You should have a real reason to not fly into that 60 knot storm in a C172 even if it manage to not crash the plane (and yeah I did that...over the alps). What I basically want is consequences if I mess up.

This is the stuff that would really immerse me. Keep me on my toes at all times and create a living world through the interaction with other players supported by the interaction with ai to actually have some traffic...

FOV adjustment......

1) My 300+ addon airports I had been collecting since FSX days (is that over 10 years of addons?)

2) PMDG 737,747,777

3) Captain Sim  727

4) EZDOK

5) Realty XP G530

6) F1 G1000

7) Failure only with probability, no Probabily like .0001% etc, that is persisted in a cfg I don't care for Failures. Failures should happen when I am least expecting it.

I forgot

😎 Replay

9) Better Live  weather... AS Active Sky addon.

10) Multi View setup with proper angle adjustment.. no fisheye.

11) Real Air Dukes

The ability to conduct an IFR flight plan in just one aircraft would be nice for a “flight sim.”
