Asobo, Please Open The Doors!

Recommended Posts

Unless I've been missing something, there doesn't seem to be a way to open the doors, say, on the Cj4

Huge immersion killler for me. How am I supposed to get to my seat? Slither in through the pitot tubes?

🤣 hope they fix this with a manual way to open/close the doors, and make the stairs controllable so they don't disappear after a minute!!

It's on the list but as a low priority, and frankly I agree. Admittedly, there's an exception when it comes to bush trip aircraft, when it would be nice to get a better view out of the sides. And since the airliners' doors can open when relevant ground services are being used (jetways, catering), it doesn't seem like a hard thing to offer on at least these planes. Perhaps they want to make it available on all aircraft at once to avoid confusion as to what does and doesn't' allow it?

While it's to be nice to add, MSFS has tons of very high priority issues that yet to be resolved! Door kill your immersion seriously? LOL

I'd personally prefer they start opening the door of the simulator internals...

It's not an immersion-killer to you or me perhaps, but to Ricardo it is, sd. Why is this something to laugh at ("LOL")? Ok sure, this shouldn't presently occupy a front-burner on MS/A's stove, I agree with that, but if Carenado and others can do it, so can MS/A. Why do you suppose Carenado makes operable doors and such? For coding & graphics practice?

Would a totally white aircraft & the absence of an aircraft livery or paint-scheme be an immersion-killer for you? I suspect so, it sure-as-chette would be for me. So, for some, certain aspects of the sim are essential toward an fully immersive flight sim experience. Some people perform virtual pre-flight aircraft inspections ("walk-around") also. Some people begin their flight, with the engine running, on the runway, others begin with a cold-start elsewhere. Some start their engine with Ctrl + E, others do not. Some adjust the heading indicator by pressing "D", others use their mouse to turn the knob.

So, you know what? I totally get where Ricardo is coming from ;).

So Ricardo is ok to fly with incorrect weather, engine management, performance aerodynamics end etc as long as he can close and open door! There was conversion couple weeks ago about serious simmers here. Well what can I say....

The supreme irony is that the XML control scripts for the door(s) remains in the modeldef.xml file. What is missing is the controlling code in the core of the sim engine to enable the door(s) to move!

It appears we have managed to find a way south again.

Whilst, it is very low on my list of priorities and I am with RXP here, it is a genuine and reasonable statement that Ricardo41 has made.

I simply do not know why we proceed down this truly argumentative path with almost every aspect of this sim.

Lets hope this moderates somewhat and quickly.
