Just curious, what card would be better for MSFS2020 & Prepar3d plus would the card's memory make a difference?

Btw...for 4k resolution.

We won’t know the answer until the 6800XT start getting into the hands of simmers. My preference right now is the 6800XT but need to see how things go. 

this is very similar to the realease of GTX 980 when AMD realeased a similar card R9 390 2 months later, the answer after 6 months was the 980ti 8months from 980.

bet that Nvidia gone realease a 3090ti in june or earlier?

3080ti, yes, 3090ti? I don't believe it for a second.

They are some videos showing the 6800XT smoking the 2080Ti by a very wide margin. Also saw a video where the 6800XT performs better than the 3080 and a bit less than the 3090. Too bad I won't be able to get one for probably 6 months thanks to miners and scalpers. 

Once again yes many benchmarks, illustrating, AMD doing better than nividia, but. where are the comparisons, at 1440 or 4k?  AMD is demonstrating at 1080. and yes I agree much better than Nividia.

Also, isn't this a flying community ? We are not talking about shooter games or car racing!!!   Please give me specific proof to me and many others on this forum, who have been simming for many years!!!  That's where are needs should be concerned about, Flight Simulator 2020,  and talking about frames I could care less, getting 220 to 180.  It's been stated many and many times that flight simulator x or flight simulator 2020 performs best at locked frames, 30 or 60, not unlimited.  Two or three extra frames will not make a difference for me.  I will stay with my 3080!!  Over the last 15 years plus Nividia has been good to me, and especially in the FLYING environment, butter smooth performance, not shooter games or car racing.  

Once again,  compare apples to apples, I want to know about Flight Simulator 2020? And not at 1080,  show me 1440 or 4k, where most of us are at.  U can give me all this high tech info, which sounds great. AMD better than Niviidia.at 1080, I definitely agree.

Concluding, my 3080, is find for now!!! 

 

 

 

It depends what CPU you have flight sim is more CPU than GPU.

We will definitely be getting benchmarks tomorrow. I for one will try to snipe a 6800XT before it's too late, then I'll either keep it or resell it if it doesn't meet my needs for FS.

Sigh.....go to 10:10 in the vid (as of now and most likely the next few weeks...this is the only way you'll be seeing MSFS using a 6800xt) 😞

 

Looks like its a tight race between the 6800xt and the 3080.  Too bad most "humans" won't be able to enjoy either of these at retail prices to most likely well into next year.   I can be hopeful that the 3rd party board makers are paying their factory workers double-overtime and they are bring in their families to help build them...but I aint' getting excited that I can click on a Newegg or Amazon page anytime soon and not see the same page I saw 15 seconds after they went on "sale" this morning:
