Would love to know how the 3080 with its limited vram handles P3D , has anyone actually tried it . 3090 is great but extremely difficult to justify and 3080ti is still vapourware.

Yes, I agree. But I'm unsure how a buyer stands with a manufacturer's guarantee when buying soemthing off Ebay from a private seller.

3090 available overclockers and novatech high price ones

My two 3090 cards never exceed 7Gb VRAM . And my server is running 2x 4K. All sliders maxed out including shadows.

I do have textures set to 1024.

Gerard. Do you use ORBX HD Trees (Flora, etc) or ORBX HD buildings or Inibuilds HD buildings? How do they look with textures set to 1024?

Is it really noticeable?

Here I use HD Trees + Terra Flora. Looks good. 

It might be because I fly over them at 2500 ft + ....

Ordered a third 3090 ....

Gigabyte 3090 AORUS Xtreme with 3x HDMI 2.1 and 3x DP 1.4 at Alternate.

They allowed me to test this card and if it shows the same issues I can return it and keep the Inno3D 3090 X4. If it work correctly with NVsurround I will return the Inno card.

My client will remain with the Inno3D 3090 X3.

Also ordered another brand HDMI 2.1 5m cables to be sure.

Gerard! Some struggle to get even one single 3090....you (almost) got 3 in a row....... 😉 

But good to hear a supplier is helping out! Alternate was it, right?

I am sorry to hear that you have a concern here. I will do my best to help you.

 

1.First download and install the Revo Uninstaller from here: http://www.revouninstaller.com/
There is a 30 days trial period.
2. Restart windows in Safe mode with networking
3. Once in Windows  launch the Revo Uninstaller tool.
4. Uninstall all NVIDIA entries. There should be a few and they all should start with "NVIDIA....".
5. After each one you uninstall, Revo will give you option to scan for additional registry entry. Do the scan for each component and then select all the additional left-over registry entries and delete them all. This way all traces of all NVIDIA components will be removed.
6. When all NVIDIA entries have been removed, restart windows in Safe mode with networking again.
7. If windows detect new hardware and prompt to install driver then cancel if you can but if not then allow it to proceed and complete first. Restart Windows in Safe mode with networking again if prompted, otherwise proceed to next step.
8. Navigate to "C:\Program Files" and delete the entire "NVIDIA Corporation" folder if it exists.
9. Navigate to "C:\Program Files (x86)" and delete the entire "NVIDIA Corporation" folder if it exists.
10. Download and Run the driver from here: https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/164741/en-us
11. Accept the license agreement.
12. Select the "Custom (Advanced)" option.
13. Put a checkmark in the 'Perform clean install" checkbox.
14. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the install.

Inno3D support stated that it probably is a driver issue that Nvidia needs to fix...

Thanks for sharing. So he put you on an older driver from 28-09-2020 it seems. Interesting as the RTX 3090 came out later...or?

Have not tried that old driver yet. Perhaps he is referring to the drivers download page ...

 

456.55 supports 3080 and 3090 cards.

But also with that driver no correct NVsurround....

Get back to Nvidia with your results Gerard. I've seen issues like this in the past which all eventually work out with drivers. I'm sorry to hear that your new card is not working completely. I hope it will turn out to be driver related.
