Hi Gerard! Is it all done and fine now? Or are you waiting in your products? Marcus

Hi Marcus,

I am waiting for new cables, The others I returned. € 60 each.

Also I have received a Club3D DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 adapter as I have 3x DP + 1x HDMI connectors. Both displays are HDMI.

And yesterday I sold my 2080 Ti and just came home with a second hand 3090 for my left view pc. So both my server (2x 4K) and my sever (2x 4K) are having a 3090...

I got lucky, and scored a 3090 two days ago. Installed it last night. I have to say going from 1080Ti. What a difference! Temps are lower, graphics are better. The whole experience is just smoother.

That sounds great! THAT is LM-Love! 😉

Cross fingers that the cables come quick......before LM HF1! Because the cables must stand a whole lot of sky and clouds.....

NVsurround is still not working. I even tried the other 3090 and the issue remains.

Imho it is a driver issue.

It’s up to Nvidia. I think that it’s time to return the X4 to the store

Is that only with that RTX 3090 "X4" card? Or generally with the RTX 309, regardless the type/model?

Why so cryptic......just say it is FEDEX 😉

I am sure you will enjoy your card.

I ordered a water cooler for the card. The temps are quite ok. Max 77 ° Celsius. But I don´t like the fanspeeds at 2000rpm.

This cards allows us to crank GPU bounded settings up, regardless if 2k 4k....(8k I didn´t test).

Well I would, except in this case FEDEX is spelled UPS...  😛

I used to always put my GPUs on water, but it makes moving them around later a real problem.  For example my 2080Ti will now replace the 1080Ti in my portable sim rig, and if it were water-cooled, I couldn't do that, as that computer is all air-cooled in the interest of transportability.  My last water-cooled GPUs were a pair of EVGA GTX980Ti Hydrocopper boards that I ran in SLI.  My man cave sits at ~19C year round--so far the GPUs have been able to stay fairly cool on air.  But, yeah, it was slick to have two GPUs cranking away maxxed out with temps in the low 40s.

I'm looking forward to a test run through the ORBX SoCal gauntlet with shadows cranked up, six layers of clouds, and 8xSSAA in 4K.  I keep telling myself that ONE DAY I'll be able to get through that one without getting penalty vectors direct to Stutterville.

I did that too. And it is possible! But.....way to much on my 4k screen. On 4k 2xssaa looks already stunning.

what I don´t like is the shadow quality of simobjects, vegetation and even buildings. To shimmering, not sharp. And I didn´t like to tweak shadows in the .cfg as I want to leave the .cfg tweakless.

But I would like to hear your feedback........after test!

😉

Enjoy

Yes, I picked one up as well but then looked at the price and hastily put it back down.😄
