November 14, 20205 yr I hate to be pedantic, but.....the only part of the Moon that can be seen in a solar eclipse is the part that is directly in front of the Sun. As for the screenshot above, there will actually be a total solar eclipse on December 14 this year, but landfall of the umbral shadow only occurs in Chile and Argentina. Does anyone know if P3D accurately calculates the positions of the Sun and Moon? November 14, 20205 yr Moderator I’ve just checked what eclipses are forecast for the Helsinki area and no total or partial solar eclipses are shown. It would be helpful if @ComSimPilotcould give the lat/lon and Zulu time that shot was taken. I suspect the lunar and solar positions are not that accurate. If historical times are available position your aircraft at Munich airport at 10:38 Zulu on 11 August 1999. The city was in the line of totality. Ray (Cheshire, England). This was between waypoints ALAMI and RUMEP at the time shown in the screenshot.
