Server

Featured Replies

Does it matter what server you are using MSFS on?  I'm in the US but i show the following right now:

US East - 25MS

US west - 50MS

North Europe - 88ms

west Europe - 105MS

Asia - 212ms (but has a red dot next to it)

I am thinking, but could be wrong, that my blurry textures, and triangular shapes, etc could be because I am on US Easts server?  Should I go to Asia even though I am in the US?  I have a 200 mb connection here.  I am just trying to figure out how to get my sim looking like the videos and pics I have seen out there.

Why do you try it and if its not an issue and report back your findings?

I am sure it does matter as as little lag as possible is better. They have multiple servers for a reason.  East would be your choice. But indeed, go Asia and let us know 🙂

Assuming the ms shown are ping times you want the lowest BUT generally over time, you should stay with the closest as that will usually average out lower.

I'm fairly sure the server you pick only matters for the multiplayer component, and not the scenery streaming.

Yeah... I didn't.  I was hoping that would have fixed it but it didn't.  I still have awful photogrammetry

Does anyone know if same users would be displayed in multiplayer as being in one's vivinity regardless of which server is used for scenery?

I'm physically in Canada but often fly in Europe.  So far the areas I've been to seem quiet - not very many other users around.

Of course time difference plays a huge role, but also wondering if I'm not seeing others because I'm on a server local to myself.

Would anyone also happen to know if 'live players' are completely separated from 'multiplayer' or if multiplayer also shows live players with an understanding they're running live time and weather?

I would recommend you to select the Europe server for more people flying in there local area if the ping is ok.  Yes, I believe you only see the people connected to a certain server location.

The official forum closes threads one month after the last post . One month is a little short maybe but this is not a bad thing on the principle.
