Which one of the Boeings does the trick?

Featured Replies

I realize these are probably nowhere near FBW's A320, but which one is actually enjoyable? Didn't have the time yet to even look at any of the Boeings.

Dang it, I'm getting kind of bored with the 320.

I don't use the tubes much.  Try the Working title CJ4 mod.  It's pretty dang good.  There's a Longitude mod I have not yet tried.  That plane needs a lot of work though in the navigation department.

I usually do a commercial flight to a major airport, then checking the area out in the GA. I’ll check out the Longitude mod, I really like it too.

I find the 747 and 787 to be badly flawed if trying to do any serious FMC-based flying; the FBW A320 is much better, although not (yet) at the level of the P3D Airbuses.

I have dusted down my old (but still licenced) copy of the Aerowinx 747, and with WidePSX it drives MSFS scenery and weather depiction. Very acceptable for long haul - arguably the most 'study level' aircraft there is, but with the superb MSFS visuals.

Here's someone else's demo:

I don't know about anyone else,  but I totally enjoy taking the 787x and departing from TFFJ,   immediately making a 90deg right turn,     then a 90 to the left,    then I head out for a minute,  pull a 180,  drop flaps, gear, and set max auto brake.     Grease the landing and  you will stop before the first turn off on the left,  maybe with a touch of reverser.

Caveats:  Fuel 5%.    Passengers 5 %.

On takeoff the left wing will will strike the building on the left halfway through the takeoff roll from the default centerline takeoff position..   To prevent this you must setup the 787 on the extreme right of the runway.   Reverse to the the rear edge of the runway with your right tires on the very edge of the right edge of the blacktop.   Set 18 deg of flaps,   do not touch the stick until well past the house on the left or risk a strike.   After passing that house,  rudder steer to the runway centerline.  You should make 120 knots at the end of the runway.

On approach maintain a steady 135 to 140knots.  set max auto brake (wheels).  full flaps,  gear down.  Trust the auto-brakes   (wheel brakes).

You can grease a landing,  turn off at the first left exit,  taxi to the runway,  and lineup for another takeoff.

The Aerowinx744 and WidePSX allows for the best of both worlds with MSFS- a superb combination- really unbeatable currently.

Other than the work from the stellar FBW Team, the airliners in MSFS are rubbish atm.

Have painters figured out a way for the textures to be displayed properly? I haven't downloaded a 747 paint Since the day I fired up MSFS back in August.

MSFS Premium Deluxe Edition; Windows 11 Pro, I9-9900k; Asus Maximus XI Hero; Asus TUF RTX3080TI; 32GB G.Skill Ripjaw DDR4 3600; 2X Samsung 1TB 970EVO; NZXT Kraken X63; Seasonic Prime PX-1000, LG 48" C1 Series OLED, Honeycomb Yoke & TQ, CH Rudder Pedals, Logitech G13 Gamepad

😀

Both, the 747 and the 787 are flyable fine, not FMC based but if you make a flightplan ( i do it in LNM and export to the MSFS Flightplan Dir )

it works fine, i would say.

The flight`s are now pretty stable ( not perfect and shure not study level and will never be ) but i have a lot fun now with this two planes ( tones better as at the beginning of MSFS )

And yes hopefully never 2D Panels - sorry to say but this is just out of date 🙂

I did flightsimming from the Jear 2000 ( beginning with FS 2000 ) until 2011 ( FSX ) and there i stopped Flightsimming after Flight cames out.

Wasen`t my world..

Now i am in again and MSFS is an other World of Flightsimming ( IMO ) so mutch more as the older Stuff - for me.

But best Plane from Stock Airliners is the A320 and if u use the A320 flybywire you allmost in the study level world

and this plane is a joy to fly..

cheers 😉
