3rd Party AI Traffic Add On

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Hope you're enjoying MSFS as much as me!

I'm just wondering if anyone has seen anything about a 3rd party AI traffic add on? I haven't seen anything from memory. It would be great to fill the skies with realistic, real to life airline traffic!

Thanks.

Hi;

They are not standalone AI traffic but here is some starting points :

https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/announcement-fslivetraffic-liveries-fsltl/297900  This is for live and ground traffic.

and

https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/custom-vpilot-vmr-model-matching-for-vatsim/306635  This is for Vatsim-Ivao Traffic

This is for AI Marine Traffic

If you're into adventures you can try PSXSeecontraffic

https://www.lekseecon.nl/

https://www.avsim.com/forums/forum/819-psxseecontraffic-for-fsx-p3d/

It's a standalone Live Traffic for MSFS solution indeed. However, keep in mind (i) it's still beta (ii) you have to install and configure 4 programs (PSXSeecontraffic, AILG, ParkPosGenerator and a data provider), (iii) there are two Live Traffic data providers, Real Traffic which is subscription-based (the better one), and ADB-S Live (free).

I didn't try it with MSFS yet, as this comes with Live Traffic included, but I have been using the P3D variant for some time now and it works pretty good. However, setting it up needs a bit of patience (albeit there is a good manual) and, as I said, the better data provider is subscription-based.

I may add, Nico (Kiek) the author is very responsive and helpful in case of issues.

Kind regards, Michael

Thanks for that.

They could totally offload this part of the sim on AIG and Scruffyduck. Have 1 person from Asobo charged with assisting them with their implementation of the next gen of AIGAIM and ADE. Answer their questions, provide them with additional information... Had they contacted them before development, they may have been able to get this right from the beginning.

They may already be doing some of that, and I'm just not aware of it, but I thought I remember reading that they were working getting ok's on the liveries from the individual airlines. What an incredible waste of time if this is true. Just open the kimono and let the freeware community fill in the gaps. If this was just a rumor, let me know. I can't find the source right now.

More to the OP's question, AIG is working on a new version of their brilliant, free AI Manager, and Scruffyduck is working on a new version of ADE. If you are not familiar with ADE, In FSX and P3D it is needed to modify gates, ai aircraft paths on the ground, and a bunch of other things. The tool is very powerful, and I've probably only used 10% of its features. The link has more info - specifically starting with post #64.

Thanks for the info.

I tried and managed to have it worked on MSFS today. It is hard to install and needs huge improvements, as it is a beta. But sim shows the traffic provided. More crowded than MSFS live Traffic. I think there are some lags because if this is the live traffic, there should not be aircraft on the runway while another is landing 🙂 It matches the real traffic on flightradar24 with about less than 20 seconds lag, which is quite good. We will see the progress in the next months.

Thanks Michael for the heads up. Regards.

Thanks for the report. Given that I have some experience with the Prepar3d version, I should really try it myself, then.

Quick and helpful tip :  You don't need to download specific AI liveries. You can use the ones if exists. I use IVAO-MTL pack to every AI option, PSX as well.

Have a nice day :9

One big advantage of the Real Traffic data provider over the integrated MSFS Live traffic is it allows time-shifted traffic. Aside weekends, I only find time to fly late in the evenings where heaven, e.g. in Europe, is empty. Using Real Traffic, I can shift time by 12 hrs.

I follow various channels on Discord and, yes, something very interesting is brewing on AI live traffic, which will include FLAI ! It is called FS Live Traffic Liveries (FSLTL). What they are doing is quite comprehensive, so go and see (video) and read what it is all about.

Would you be willing to share the channels you follow or maybe the video you referenced?
