Yes CTD for me as well I just tried it.  Taking off from runway is fine but when I tried to takeoff from parking boom it CTD'd.

There's  a temp  fix for the ctd's on their forum. I downloaded and installed the file and no ctd. It's the heli port that is supposedly  causing the issue.

I had the same problems and had to tell it to "keep" the executable 3 times before it would execute the program.

I'm still getting CTD with the new .bgl. This is getting uninstalled until sorted by DD.

Bumping this thread to check if issues have been rectified. This looks like a must have, but I'll wait for their sales.

There's an updated version through ORBX installer. I'm going to grab it and report back a bit later today.

Still CTD with the new version, I saw on their message board that it's also the case for others.

simple work around

I love this product, as it shows the Chicago area like  never seen before  other than being up there for real, as I have since earning my PPL in 1995. So the CTD after trying to start at any gate at KORD and KMDW

was real kick in the pants. I saw today on the Drzewiecki forum they know about the problem which has something to do with he heliports and they are working on a version 1.1 to come out soon.

So I tried this little idea. Set up a flight with any plane ie.787 or the A320 and go to destination first. Type in KORD as if to practice your approach. Then go back to origin airport and load a flight plan

or just put in the gate you want to start at. hit FLIGHT and you are at the gate no CTD. This might just be a fluke but until they fix this it seems to work. If you have been a serious simmer as I have since 1984, you learn to improvise with as many work arounds as possible, any thoughts?

I have always had issues with scenery not loading in the distance, triangular terrain in the distance, melted buildings until close, etc. with the default Chicago.  Would buying this change that or is it still considered photogrammetry?  If I would fly with that off, would this scenery still be in the sim?  I am just trying to figure out if it is worth it and if it will be an improvement for Chicago for me.

My first question to you would be how often do you fly Chicago?  My previous sims were overpopulated with payware addons that I jumped at and then flew around once or twice...  I so far have limited my similar purchases for MSFS to the Drzewiecki Washington, DC monuments. That two months ago and I have flown it three times at 3,000 ft or above and at those altitudes it did not impress me vs a freeware mod that is out there.

I keep looking at payware airports such as KPDX, KSAN, KMIA, and Key West.  Then I check my spreadsheet flight log and find I rarely fly to those areas.  Same for airports.  Most payware are for major commercial traffic airports and I fly 90% or better general aviation. For Chicago I am much more likely to land at Chicago Heights, Aurora, or DuPage, than at O'hare.  Just saying...

I mainly fly into ORD and I'd say in and out of Chicago pretty often.  I mostly fly the A320

It will replace the photogrammetry buildings so you will see them further out in the distance. They would also replace AI buildings if you have PG turned off. I prefer these types of cities over the PG since you can see the buildings so far out and are much more detailed. I have this in P3D but have not bought it yet for MSFS...would he nice if they offered a discount for prior customers...

Have they resolved the CTD?

Nope. The issue is related to heliports and they’re still trying to pinpoint it.
