Rumor on Nvidia leak sites is the 3080ti will be $999.99 when released (whenever that is).

Happy New Years!

Gigabyte x670 Aorus Elite AX MB; AMD 7800X3D CPU; Deepcool LT520 AIO Cooler; 64 Gb G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO DDR5 6000; Win11 Pro; P3D V5.4; 1 Samsung 990 2Tb NVMe SSD: 1 Crucial 4Tb MX500 SATA SSD; 1 Samsung 860 1Tb SSD; Gigabyte Aorus Extreme 1080ti 11Gb VRAM; Toshiba 43" LED TV @ 4k; Honeycomb Bravo.

Yes, and when will you actually be able to buy one, unscalped?  Is inventory actually supposed to exist to meet demand now?

Right now I've read nothing that states emphatically supply will meet demand for these series 3000 cards, kind of like it has for most of my long history w/ PC.  I would like to know if and when I can expect to go online and find several sources all selling the same thing for similar prices, as it's always been for me.

Isn't that typical. All this fuss about the 3000's and the 4000's will soon be here. 😆

It seems to be the new pattern.

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

😁 They're not daft you know, these manufactures and retailers. Its all a big con to keep us scrapping the relatively new tech we craved and buying the latest greatest. It can't go on though. When we have the inhabitants of  islands having to deal with our electronic waste, its just not sustainable.

Same for the failures that are built into certain technology. Printers are the most notorious, with a chip inside programmed to fail the device after a certain number of prints. Crazy stuff. We are running out of resources, polluting the planet and warming the atmosphere. It has to stop some time, we cant go on like this forever.

Yes they wish to stay in business as long as possible--this is the primary aim of capitalist economies, no matter what the watershed cost.  We humans at least in this western capitalist consumer based economy are very analogous to cancer when you get right down to it and you know how that goes in the end if left untreated, and of ten even if treated.  It's remarkable to fly all over western Europe in MSFS and see how nearly every square meter is developed unless its not geophysically possible.  Cities, streets/roads, and agricultural plots, add infinitum.  You don't get this from driving on land but in the air it's obvious.  Wherever possible the cancer metastasizes, pollutes, opens up ingress/egress of fuel and supplies (angiogenesis) initially then the tumor develops (into villages, towns, cities, metropolis' etc...).  It has disregard for other players in the biosphere (neighboring normal, non-cancerous cells) and thinks only about itself and incessant growth.   We need a major spiritual overhaul and not the kind you will find at the neighborhood church nor in the various so-called holy scripts.  I don't think straight up western capitalism can do it there are way too many forces that are counter to sustainability.

I think you're right. I think its 50/50 whether we continue to ravish the planets resources in order to sustain capitalism, or find a viable alternative system that can be implemented quick enough.

Hi Everyone

I managed to get a Rrx 3090 directly from a retailer...at RRP.

After running it for few days I must say it isn't what I had hoped for.

At maximum setting in msfs 2020 I am only getting about 30 frames in high density areas on a 36'' 1080 monitor in cessna.

Msi test run shows 100% gpu usage and about 25% cpu .

I think I will selling it soon and going back to my good old 1080Ti and wait for the the 3080 ti.

Max settings aren't always a good idea you know. Developers put in place the capability to achieve more when future hardware arises.

Be sensible with your settings.

The other point is that you are only at 1080p. So not really making best use of the graphics card. The 3090 comes into its own at 1440p and higher. Thats when the frame rate will be superiour to lesser cards.

Also make sure your 3090 driver is the latest.
