I'll have to at least partly reverse my judgment on the 717 in P3D V5.1 HF1. After the transfer to Orbx and some updates it is running pretty well for me. (I disabled TrueGlass and RealLight however.)
VRAM is still tight and on the ramp at Atlanta it shot up to 6.5 GB of 7.1 GB available, at 30 fps steady. The flight to Panama City, FL with TrueEarth Florida was successful. Can recommend, actually.

I agree with thepilot . After submitting a ticket to TFDi they reset my activation and now the 717 is a much used add-on in my P3DV5. Interesting airplane and fun to fly. Especially with Multi Crew Experience for a crew.

It is surprisingly good. Never once had a CTD with it and I flew it extensively in V4.5 (no VRAM issues there obviously). I use an actual airline FCOM as reference and guidance, and most of the Normal Procedures as well as some of the Supplementary Procedures work just as described. The systems are also somewhat complex and sometimes a little bit quirky, in my opinion. If you're into the MD-11 then you've probably heard that TFDi is developing just that? I think the 717 bodes well for its development.

I installed the TFDI 717 into P3Dv5.1 and the VC looks washed out and faded, almost like 16bit colors when I verified it's using the 2K textures. None of the other planes I use have this issue. Has anyone had this happen to them?

Dan yes I have exactly the same problem, did try everything with out any luck.

Still unusable for me with the vram(3080 in VR). and washed out as Wise87 has pointed out. Every other plane I own is working fine though. Glad I also have my MadDog to fly.

FYI, a user has put out some replacement 2K/4K textures that fix the washed out look in the 717. They work great. Be warned. I'm using the 4K and my VRAM is at 9827 at KMSP on my 3090. Performance is smooth for me.
